There's nothing wrong with private property owners having rules regarding the use of their property or agents that enforce those rules. No one is compelled to post on 2+2. There are other online discussion forums available, even other online poker forums. Being a mod on an internet forum is in no way similar to have a monopoly on the initiation of physical violence.

I probably am. Which is why I'm disappointed that we got yet another mod who thinks that a liberal enough application of institutionalized violence by the correct tiny cabal of elites will eventually magically produce the answers to all the world's social problems.

What Elliot believes politically isn't really important to me. All I care about is choosing people who can be the most fair and unbiased with their moderation in here. Everyone has their own political slant, but only some are capable of putting those beliefs aside to make the right decisions.

When I mod politics I rarely even consider whether I agree with something. I hope you'll judge Elliot's decisions for what they are, not what he thinks about government.

I haven't been reading this forum much since the election (taking a break from politics/reading political news in general, not just this forum, after gorging in the run-up to the election), but I think Elliot will make a fine mod and applaud the decision to anoint him.
