LOL at thinking Gillum underperformed the most.

Unless I'm forgetting someone, that honor goes to Phil Bredesen.

Decided for some dumb**** reason to publicly support Rapey McDrunkface when no one even asked for his opinion on the matter. He went on to get stomped anyway by Marsha Blackburn (who has the brains of a croquet mallet) by over 10 points.

Uhh..Trump won TN by 26 points. Losing by just 10 is an over performance by just looking at the national vote and TN the last 2 elections. I know the crack strategists here can turn white rural counties in AL blue, but Bredsen actually did pretty good.

That was obv a joke. But how much do you want to bet that I can find posts by morons here talking about how Doug Jones is going to lose for not being a #trueprogressive? I honestly haven’t checked that people actually said that, and it’s a really, really dumb thing to say, so maybe I’m underestimating this place. But then again somehow retconning that Gillum (who 538 gave a 78% chance to win) wasn’t a big underperformance is also dumb as hell

I mean if the voters were sending a message last Tuesday that message was definitely, "We want Dems to work with Republicans in Washington."

jesus christ

if he wasn't riding gillum he WOULD have lost by 10 points

All evidence suggests otherwise.

This House Speaker battle is starting to piss me off. I read a few articles about it and Pelosi has this sense to her that this seat is hers by default. They went on to say she has reached out to party elders to help close the deal. You just know Bill Clinton is going to be calling freshman reps to brow beat them into voting for her.

She’s 78, represents the most stereotypical liberal district, and is worth $26 million.

Can we elect someone younger? Not a multi-millionaire? Perhaps a minority? Perhaps someone from a region we’re starting to make inroads with?

This **** feels like Clinton voters playing the sexist card if you supported Bernie. “Bernie BRO!” “You just hate Pelosi because you bought into GOP propaganda and mysogny! I stand with Nancy!”

Just go on Twitter to see every establishment political figure weighing in on how Nancy deserves this! She’s a fighter! Seems like a massive influence campaign. Ughhhhh.

Well, one way to contrast this with, for example, HRC's entitlement to the 2016 Democratic nomination is that leading the Democrats in the House has in fact already been Nancy Pelosi's job since 2003. So I think in this case, she's entitled to some amount of entitlement.

The "not a millionaire" stipulation might be difficult to meet. Most members of congress are very wealthy people.
