Limbaugh blindsided Limbaugh blindsided

01-17-2008 , 03:23 PM
While out to grab a bite for lunch, I listening to Rush's show (the other talk station was in commercial) when a caller comes on and asks Limbaugh his definition of a Conservative.

Rush talks a bit about it, both offering some defining characteristics and some specific sides of issues to 'qualify'. "I would never call a pro-lifer conservative", "Against raising taxes, probably for cutting them", "favoring smaller government" were some of his comments (paraphrased a bit).

When Rush is done, the caller says (paraphrasing again) "Given that, wouldn't you have to agree that Ron Paul is the only [maybe he said 'best' or 'closest to being a'] "real" conservative in race right now?"

I was laughing too loudly at Rush's predicament to hear his response clearly (or maybe it was just then that the Burger King order taker started talking on the loud speaker), but he is stammering, obviously aware that he just got caught "supporting" Paul. He finally blurted out something that had nothing to do with the question at all and immediately went to a station break.

Anybody out there catch this?

Didn't hear that but the only other time I heard RP mentioned on a conservative talk show, the host went into a spaz. "I'LL TELL YOU WHAT HE PROMISES- HE PROMISES TO SURRENDER THE MIDDLE EAST TO AL QAEDA! HE IS TAKING ORDERS FROM OSAMA BIN LADEN!"

I think we should all listen to neo-con talk radio for a day and have a thread to post the most hilarious things we hear.

While I like this idea - I think I would enjoy listening to Paul (or Huckabee or Kuchinich) supporters sneaking onto these shows and exposing them for the frauds that they are even more.

So what you're saying is you spent your lunch hour cramming fast food cheese burgers down your gullet and listening to political talk radio.

You're what's wrong with America.

Cut the poor man some slack. A history of chemical dependency and anal cysts deserves our sympathy. Feel his pain.

The problem is that intelligent Paul supporters don't make it on the show, its usually the ******ed ones who just yell and scream and look like idiots that do and actually seem worse than the hosts.

You're spending your time criticizing strangers on an internet message board on Thursday at 3:00 when you're supposed to be doing something constructive?

you're what's wrong with America. As am I.

You have not given enough valid excuses for listening to the show. You must be ditto head who's afraid to admit it.

It's not even a real country anyway.

I'll admit I didn't listen to neo-con talk radio today, but I imagine this is a pretty close approximation of their yammering about immigration:

Too bad it wasn't a brown/black kitty in the box, would have worked better imo.

Well, when you have call screeners and you control the conversation, it's very easy to make people think what you want them to, now isn't it?

It's more than that. You usually get the dumbest sections of the audience calling in (most smart people don't want to wait an hour on hold, etc...).

Are all politics threads this fun?

Not even close. ATF has a much wider selection of lolcats.
