Asperger’s Syndrome is a serious deal. I was on scene for this particular story. I cannot comment on it as I am an important witness and the case is still in the trial process.

Prince was charged with malice murder in the death of his 77-year-old relative Mary Gibbs. He also faces aggravated assault charges for the attack, in which his grandmother also was wounded.

The district attorney said some of the attack was captured on video by deputies.

Douglas County Sheriff's office Lt. Bruce Ferguson said the video shows Prince raise the sword above his head and stab the already-deceased Gibbs in the chest.

Ferguson said Prince stabbed his grandmother, Laura Prince, in the arm, but she managed to escape and barricaded herself n a bathroom. The door of the bathroom had more than 30 stab marks on its door, Ferguson said.

Prince chased away two teenagers who tried to aid the women, according to Ferguson. Prince allegedly shot at arriving deputies, Ferguson said.

Video showed Prince being subdued with a K-9 and flash bang.

Prince's attorney focused on the teen's mental state.

The judge bound the case to Superior Court.

Almost as big a deal as getting cut with a butter knife. Parents are the real ****ups here, calling the cops 10+ times on their own kid. Eventually he will get hurt. Idiots.

And I really don't think aspergers increases aggression, its specific to the individual

I agree. I was shocked by how she was stating she wanted him tased. My main point was against the argument made in PVN's link of "Not really dangerous."

As to your claim that aspergers doesn't increase aggression, I'm not familiar enough to comment, since this young man is the only individual I've ever knowingly encountered with aspergers.

So lemme get this straight.. Kid stabs two people, killing one, tries to stab two more, shoots at you (I'm assuming) guys and you respond with ****ing K9's and smoke bombs?

WTF are you guys, cops or "National Security" LMAO

So what's your play? Robot sniper? Possibly a couple baby bombs?

You guys need a heavy projectile net. Or you could shoot the... sword?... out of his hands.
02-03-2012 , 01:42 AM
I really can't get into discussions of equipment available at that scene at this time. I'll bump this story and have a thorough discussion about it after the case concludes in court.

Wow, what a story.

What was wrong with using a dog and flashbang? I'm not understanding that criticism

Your department definitely needs to hire a weapons master.

"Your sword play is weak. Come. Try me."

Nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
02-03-2012 , 02:30 PM
Nuking is so messy though. Maybe we compromise, go with a predator drone strike instead?
02-03-2012 , 02:38 PM
Not if the kid is an American citizen!!!!!

Don't get me wrong, I get the whole "they captured him alive" angle, but at what cost?

What are the chances this 77 year old woman died while they're standing around with their thumbs up their asses coming up with this brilliant plan to throw big firecrackers at the kid then make a dog bite him?

This is far from a police abuse story. IMO this is straight ****ing failure to do ****.

Why all the firecrackers and dogs? He's a nut with a sword stabbing people. Put a 223 round in his head and go home.

Thats the issue

I'm all for using non-lethal means to stop somebody. I'm just wondering how the decisions in the two cases were made? Shoot the kid with the butter knife (?) and sick the dog on the kid with the sword? Seems backwards...
02-03-2012 , 04:35 PM
Well, it's two different departments..

Yeah, I'm obv not a gung-ho, shoot em dead kind of guy or anything, but I dont think I'd have had much problem with more lethal force being used in this situation, especially if there is concern that there is someone hurt but possibly alive, and the guy is using deadly weapons and has already demonstrated he is gonna use them. If this is some autistic rage thing, and he isnt "competent," well, that is very sad, and sure if you can avoid hurting him thats gravy, but real lives are at risk.

The other story is ****ing terrible and could easily have been avoided.
02-03-2012 , 11:22 PM
Without going into detail, no lives were at risk.

Someone was already dead.

Gross story. The walmart pharmacists had an arrangement where they would call the police whenever anyone from Mississippi bought pseudoephedrine. The police then pull the woman over when she leaves the parking lot. THANKS WALMART!!!

Yea, I hate that ****, trying to control the meth ingredients doesnt work, and I'm actually highly in favor of legislation that actually works to stop meth labs, and not for the reasons you think.

It's not because I think meth is some "devil drug" or whatever, it's simply because I've been shown time and time again that meth users are on the whole too ****ing stupid to make the **** and have blown up more ****, more cops, firemen and small children than any other group of drug users, and are just flat ****ing ******ed.

That's why I strongly support the legalization of all drugs, including meth, in the hopes that trained professionals can make it.

I am of the opinion that Bubba from the trailer park with his 6th grade education should not be allowed to mix flammable/explosive/Corrosive/acidic chemicals.

I'm unconcerned entirely with how he ingests those chemicals when he's finished.

When his trailer blows up, and a rescue worker dies, it's not just "his body, his choice" anymore.
02-06-2012 , 10:12 PM
Not to mention that all the kids in the neighboring trailers are getting exposed to hazardous chemicals
