I was rousted by the police today for the second time in the last few months. I was just sitting in my truck reading on a lunch break. Cop just stopped and asked me what I was doing and my name. I failed to tell him to go **** himself.

It was a rich area and I may be a bit of a working class poser, but I didn't look like a local and there are class issues too. I probably wouldn't have been shot, but I may well have been pulled out of my truck, put on the curb, perhaps handcuffed and sat there for 20 minutes.

Seattle police fatally shoot pregnant woman who they say confronted officers with a knife

They are basically being trained to shoot first and ask questions later. It's a combination of their us v. them dehumanization of the public and their obsession with how dangerous their job is and the safety of police officers being the primary concern. It's like they are at war with the public.

LOL that's comforting. It doesn't seem to totally be nationwide, but there are definitely some "bad apples" (i.e. entire departments, including some major metros) that are incredibly reckless and wanton.

I mean, that castille video was exactly what had been represented and described in the media and in the trial. obv horrible.

I do think the trayvon martin execution in cleveland was just as a bad. cops pull up and blast a 13 yr old playing with a toy gun. I think they were out of their car and shooting in less than 3 seconds. no warning.

Usually a cop can pull a driver over for driving while black with no consequences. This time the cops were a little unlucky.

^^^ that's been big local news down here, could be harassment or just profiling, she decided not to pursue the death penalty against an accused cop killer so they all hate her now
