Normally I'm against hate crime laws but in this case I'd be willing to make an exception.

Even if I assume this is true (which I don't) it has nothing to do with the argument Omaha is making.

Hopefully you already knew that. Somehow I knew it'd be you who came running to his aid.

Not sure if it has been posted yet.

Cop rear ends motorcyclist and threatens to write the victim a ****load of tickets. He's on administrative leave now and under investigation.

Yea, that's not really any major ****.

Cop gets a lil hot for a second, standard after an accident, then writes no tickets kicks the guy loose.

Probably needs a good talking to about language when dealing with the public.

Cue Taso to come tell us how many guns we need for the firing line for this one.

Also I love the "Are you getting this on tape, cuz I am?"

most cops are sadistic bastards, if only they suffered the pain they routinely inflict upon others.

So he's being prosecuted.

What are you angry about here exactly, sentence too lenient?

Maybe a death sentence is more appropriate?

If anyone should be a lil hot in that situation, it's the motorcyclist driving without a protective cage around himself. He could have been killed by a ****ty driver like this cop.

The cop using threats of force of law to intimidate his way out of the situation where he's clearly in the wrong is inexcusable and he should be fired immediately. Not to mention the aggro behavior. These are prime reasons why some people just hate all cops across the board. When *******s like this are kept on the force it makes the haters feel justified in their opinions.

Sure, except that's not what happened here.

This guy could have (I'm going off how it works here) demanded the accident be investigated by a state agency, demanded a supervisor, gotten all the pertinent accident information etc.

If this dude was upset he was a pussy about it, to be honest. Shaking the guys hand, then running home to YouTube. Kind of lame. If you wanna flex, do it at the scene.

If he "got out" of anything, it's having to report an injury free, likely damage free accident to his supervisors. I'd be amazed to learn he'd actually "intimidated" the biker out of damages owed him.

Re: Law and Order 2

I dunno - the biker was driving like kind of a knob, but the cop hitting him is obviously way worse.

The officer was verbally aggressive when he came up, and if I was the biker I wouldn't want to engage him. Especially when it's a lose-lose situation engaging a cop.

I don't agree about him being fired though. I'd like to think it'll get dealt with back at the station, but we all know it won't.

When the cop threatened to write the victim a ****load of tickets for an accident that was the cop's fault, that is exactly what happened there.

lol yeah, when some aggro d-bag with a gun and the law behind him threatens a normal person the correct play for the normal person is to flex on the scene. C'mon man. No, the motorcyclist did exactly the right thing, he had the whole thing recorded, the best thing to do was to get away from the threatening, aggro d-bag with a gun.

Okay so the cop had little to nothing to lose by acting professional here, then that shows he's even more over the line with his behavior.

Ok, you've now slipped and your fangs are showing. I know you can't do it, but I'm gonna ask anyway just for the lulz. Please tell me the timeframe in the video where he "threatened" him.

Whoops.

Guess you'll retract that now. Or try to make a play that every time a cop writes a ticket he's threatening (or assaulting) someone.

Look, everyone is a bit of a douche immediately following an accident, cops included. One thing I will say is that if this is the kind of crap that passes for evil popo news these days, we as police officers are headed in the right direction.

I take it you're not a motorcyclist because his driving was reasonable. Motorcyclist's can't be as carefree as cage drivers because they aren't driving around with a protective cage surrounding them. He was staying out of the white car's blind spot, that's why he was riding so far behind. When that white car began erratically attempting to enter his lane, he stopped so that idiot wouldn't run over his uncaged body. When you're driving around on a motorcycle it's a good idea to get a good amount of distance between yourself and obviously oblivious, unskilled drivers.

I agree with the rest of your assessment of the situation though, I may be wrong thinking he should be fired. He just seems old enough to know how to act professionally and that it's unacceptable to threaten innocent people with police action to cover up his personal screw ups. Just seems that if he hasn't learned by that age, he'll never learn.

2:18 to 2:20 Saying "I can write you a **** load of tickets" to an innocent, law-abiding citizen is definitely a threat.

Not everyone is a bit of a douche immediately following an accident. This motorcyclist wasn't. I don't recall anyone acting like a douche in any of the auto accidents I've been in.

If law officers don't understand how it's wrong to threaten this innocent motorcyclist with false charges here, then LEO's need to turn around about 180 degrees to head in the right direction.

Re: Law and Order 2

I'd be much more pissed if he actually wrote him a bunch of bull**** tickets.

I'd also be much more pissed if it was a serious accident.

If it were my officer he'd get a written reprimand, probably 5% pay cut for 6 months, and I'll remember it the next time he applies for a promotion.

But I wouldn't fire him.

I wouldn't be too, but I don't think anyone can deny that it's an implied threat. On a side note, what is the standard protocol for this? It seems like it would be proper that the officer "forgets" he's an officer in the sense and "pretends" to be a motorist, exchanging information, calling an ambulance if needed, calling another officer to the scene, etc.

Re: Law and Order 2

Here we don't investigate our own accidents. If we're involved in an accident Georgia State Patrol is the investigating agency.

But yea, pretty much there's no real difference in the way that a cop is supposed to react when involved in a traffic accident from anyone else. Call someone to come out and conduct an investigation, etc. Or really, more specifically they behave the same as anyone involved in a traffic accident in a company vehicle. Notify LE, call a supervisor etc.

Depending on the seriousness of the accident, Professional Standards may be called to the scene as well.

Let me guess. You spent the time to Google a six month old incident but didn't bother to read the article yourself.

LMAO.

I didn't even click the link until you posted Angus.

Here's some good reading Omaha:

Quote:
When police arrived, the elderly woman was wandering in the backyard holding a gun.
Officers say they shot her after she repeatedly ignored their requests to drop the weapon.

I'm a pretty big hater, but wandering around with a gun in hand and not responding to police... I'd hope they'd find another way but this isn't trigger happy & out of control.

The police need to learn that all this ultra violence and killing is wrong. Once they see that, they'll be cured, praise god.
