I haven't been on the Twitters much lately so I'm not totally familiar with his recent takes, but this one at least I think is a bit more nuanced - this is a long-held belief of his stemming from things like anonymous government officials responding to requests for comment by giving sweeping (but anonymous, so they can't be challenged) pro-government responses to things like "did the Bush administration torture people" or "did the Obama administration drone a wedding". And on issues like those, very often the anonymous officials would turn out to be FOS.
Nowadays, though, anonymous sources are back in fashion because they're mostly dumping on Trump and we love that. It's a bit of a different dynamic for sure - "help us, my boss is going to destroy this country" anonymous leaks are probably a bit more reliable than "hey my boss is just the greatest guy in the world, isn't he?" anonymous leaks - but Greenwald is still very much about his principles.
For this particular story (re: "at least until his own site gets a scoop") I would note that the source wasn't the anonymous (until yesterday) leaker, but rather the document itself.
