Is anyone talking about the Louisiana congressman who just called for mass genocide against anyone we suspect might be a radicalized Muslim?

I thought you were exaggerating but nah.

Someone should do a long piece profiling all the bat**** crazy people we put in state and federal legislatures. Seems like every few weeks someone stumbles upon a staggeringly insane statement or post from a Gop representative that's just, like, sitting out there in the open.

I'm just wondering if that's because the data doesn't exist or if no one has thought to do it, or if my googling has failed me and is floating around out there. I think the ideal level would be results for every census tract, I believe that's the minimum level redistributing takes place at
I've made some redistricting maps for fun. It would be tough to come with maps that weren't significantly more egalitarian than current maps. County-level data is easy to find, and decisiondeskhq.com made a precinct-level map for 2016, which is really cool.

Last week SCOTUS affirmed a lower court's decision on NC racial gerrymandering in federal elections. Today they affirmed a lower court's decision on the same thing but for state elections.

Beat: Lower court told NC they had to have a special election in 2017, SCOTUS vacated that part of the ruling. So they effectively said, "The outcome of your election in 2016 was based on illegal gerrymandering, butnahhh you can go ahead and keep your illegal results til 2018." So basically states can do this and the outcome will be rigged and that's okay we'll fix it in two years. Horse****

Wow. I'll never understand free soloing (due to that whole randomness thing), but wow, that's huge.

2 questions:

Where does one find non-traditional coinage? Such as half-dollars, dollars, etc

Is there a polite way to remind a company that, while you're in the interview process with them and they've started to stall, you're interviewing with other companies and thus have less availability?

When they suggest dates/times for the next interview, say you're unavailable that date/time because of other interviews (whether it's true or not).

5 dead. Not sure why you're cluttering up this thread unless the shooter is brown or a Trump supporter.

Well, they said they'd get in touch this week to schedule something for this week. I assumed that would mean Monday because of how lightning fast they've moved for every other step of the surprisingly long process.

Many things can happen to cause a delay - holiday, sickness, training courses, conferences, workload, needing the approval of person XYZ, higher priority tasks etc etc. If they like you they'll come for you, otherwise you're better off not there because they'll probably try to screw you over salary etc.

Yeah, but that's for the presidential election, I was wondering if the same thing was available for House races anywhere. Wouldn't be perfect, but better than using the presidential vote as a proxy for hypothetical house races in an algorithmically redistricted world

Virginia public access project has precinct level results for every election going back to 2012. Don't know what's around for other states.

If you're looking at the impact of moving a precinct from one house district to another. Incumbency and candidate-specific effects are going to be the major drivers of any deviation between presidential and house races, and those won't exist for a precinct that gets moved.

Not gonna lie I'm feelin this tinfoil. Seems odd that Rachel got violently ill right when Cheeto Benito's peeps target her for termination. Good move to get her out of the limelight for a while if so, it seemed to work out for Hannity (though not for Bill so much)

lots of pretty areas in ohio and pa. many have been destroyed by pollution, mining and fracking. somerset has lost a lot of land to fracking in particular.
