Ideally you have a good friend who is also very critical of the things you say. that way you can say a bunch of stuff to them and if they think you sound messed up or they disagree with everything you say then you can know you aren't back to mental normality yet.
does that even make sense?
Yes, perfect sense. Thanks.

We've got an Aussie-American restaurant near me that serves kangaroo. Just reminds me of venison. They used to have a lot more authentically Australian stuff but it must have turned off Americans because it's down to just a couple dishes, sad!

I’ll eat a koala if it’s the last thing I do.

Im getting bored of deer, lets make Kangeroos an invasive species.

We have tons of invasive eucalyptus in California. Importing Koalas to feast on them seems like a no brainer.

Probably funner ways to get the clam, imo.

Some researchers are claiming to have developed a process for pulling CO2 out of the air at a price of between $100 and $200 a ton. This definitely, definitely won't pan out, but it's thrilling to read anyways.

I was interested in that process that turns diesel exhaust into printer ink. Sounds neat.

And if it does pan out, I fully expect one oil company or another to somehow prevent its proliferation.

IIRC this is how it works in the Star Trek universe

Chik fil A was the final straw; this is a Ronald Mcdonald administration imo.

I expect to see quite a few Holmes/Musk types emerge in this area.

his defense for the chick fil a thing was that they're an evangelical christian company and that's why he's so in love with them. get this guy the hell away from any government position

Be careful, it's easy to get bamboozled.
06-07-2018 , 05:06 PM
I’ll cook stir-fry koala with a side of bloomin onion, just like they do in Australia.

CrossFit fires exec who called LGBTQ pride a ‘sin’

If you aren't familiar with Greg Glassman, he's one of the more blunt business leaders out there.

Quote:
CrossFit founder and CEO Greg Glassman told the news organizations that Russell's views are "appalling."

“He needs to take a big dose of ‘shut the f--- up' and hide out for awhile. It’s sad,” Glassman said. “We do so much good work with such pure hearts — to have some zealot in his off-time do something this stupid, we’re all upset. The whole company is upset. This changes his standing with us. What that looks like, I don’t know. It’s so unfortunate.”

Someone listened to all of Dennis Miller's podcassts so you don't have to.

Quote:
Naturally, the podcast is rich with Miller’s special brand of impenetrable mad-lib analogies. These — as the only thing differentiating Option from sitting across from your racist uncle while he reads the newspaper — are the main attraction, if only perversely so. On Democrats’ refusal to move on from the Russia scandal, he says: “CNN couldn’t be any more in the ‘throw it against the wall and see what sticks’ business if they were Jackson Pollock testing a strand of pasta to see if it was al dente while he made his lunch on a hot plate in the spin art booth at the state fair.” The overlap between people familiar with Jackson Pollock and people actively seeking out new material from Dennis Miller has got to be in the single digits, and as one of those people, making sense of the joke has brought me no joy. Being able to understand a Dennis Miller analogy is like being able to recognize a brain tumor on your own CT scan — the sense of accomplishment only lasts a few seconds before the existential dread sets in.

Never been, but I was told by an authentic Australian that if you want to go to Outback Steakhouse, you should go there, but then find the nearest other restaurant.
06-07-2018 , 06:30 PM
You're bad at eating if you need an Australian or anybody else to tell you not to eat at a themed chain restaurant in a suburban shopping plaza.

True story, once had a visiting friend request we go to a Ruby Tuesday so he could get the endless salad bar. Like, I get that cities are generally pretty pricey, especially for people used to rural pricing, but cmonnnnnnnnn mannnnnnnnn

I like Outback.
