****ing Pence. The quintessential sycophant. It still kind of blows my mind that someone like that actually exists.

Just got incredible bad luck, I mean how many times has Ron Paul had lurid racist **** published under his name? Dude's run bad is legendary, when will he catch a break.

The sad thing is now we’ll never know what the **** “cultural Marxism” means. The people should own the means of producing culture? I guess I have to go to the intellectual dark web to learn what that’s all about.

North Dakota oil fields come with a rise in domestic violence

cliffs: men WOAT

Quote:
In their study “Drilling Down: An Examination of the Boom-Crime Relationship in Resource-Based Boom Counties,” researchers at the University of Regina and the University of North Dakota describe some of the commonalities boom towns share. An oil boom can mean a flood of young men with huge salaries and no connection to the community. Many live in sprawling, temporary housing known as man camps. The men’s deep pockets, boredom, exhausting work hours, and lack of romantic partners make them prime customers for traffickers of sex and drugs. Traffic deaths often rise, and so do reports of domestic violence.

“It’s a slam dunk that crime goes up whenever there’s a boom town, pretty much no matter where it happens throughout North America,” said Rick Rudell, one of the authors of the “Drilling Down” study. “You get this influx of young people, primarily male, into small rural communities and they just disrupt everything.”

By 2011, there were more than 1.6 single young men for every single young woman in the Bakken region counties most affected by the oil boom. The “Drilling Down” study showed that violent crime in boom counties rose 18.5 percent between 2006 and 2012, while decreasing 25.6 percent in counties that had no oil or gas production. The biggest city in the area, Williston, saw calls to police increase from 4,163 in 2006 to 15,954 in 2011. Narcotics investigations skyrocketed, as did drug arrests.

We need to shut down oil fields until our country's representatives can figure out what the hell is going on.

Next up, Tesla.
07-02-2018 , 09:10 PM
Well, I know Tesla is the most shorted company around and likely has an overly high valuation. I also know that they have like 500k preorders for the model 3, which is solid yearly sales for any car. They also apparently recently hit 5k/wk production, or 250k cars/yr. I have no idea if their stock is priced right (it probably isn't), but it seems likely they will be plenty profitable before long. There are probably 500 better companies to bet against with a little research.

Speaking of Tesla, not all of their Panasonic batteries are going in cars.

For the third month in a row I'm voting Scott Pruitt again. I just can't believe, even in this administration, that such a blatant grifter won't get some backlash. I know Trump is an even worse grifter, but he's the president. Pruitt isn't quite as untouchable.

My BIL posted this meme and one about mocking libs for being triggered by the child prisons.

It’s taking a lot of will power not to throw a match on that tinder. He is in the military and eloped with my SIL so that she could get on his medical etc. I really want to remind him that the reason he gave me for re-enlisting last year is all of the socialism entitlements of being a government worker, but it would start world war 3. His whole family and my wife’s family are salivating at the opportunity to attack after my wife posted that we went to the keeping families together protest.

Send me thoughts and prayers.

I find it hard to have a deep political conversation right now because it seems like the truth is hard to talk about because 95% dont understand the gravity of the situation or no enough about what this all means to have this conversation

I think he could and I could take the heat tbh. It baffles me that he is a trump supporter. He may be the very last one that I am curious about as he seems so ****ing rational and kind, but his family and my wife’s sister would pounce like jackals and my wife would be obliterated in the mayhem. I started typing a response and deleted it. I may try to actually talk to the dude. Maybe.

my thinking was that the results of spending 5 years calling everything romney supporters said as racist led to them being unconcerned about being called a racist and so trump came along whats next but after this whole very real ice deal in texas there has to be an even more real conversation but not sure what to say. Its also hard to talk to normal people about any of this because I talk to 2p2 posters and really smart people about it.

Couldn't in good conscience come up with another silly write-in (though Melania almost make me look like a genius) when Kelly is such a lock.

Space,

Agree about the bubble in here. I learn so much from this forum, some things I am not skilled enough to relay. The current situation is simple though. I’ve really been thinking more and more about why the other side can be so effective with such terrible polices and it is because they KISS.

I have been tryna get my liberal but non confrontational friends to get fired up and my urgency is not transferable. But today I talked to my best friend and said we just have to hammer the message that this is not who we are and for the first time he perked up and didn’t feel lost in it all. No solution needed. No complex explanation needed. We were all brought up on american exceptionalism. We were all indoctrinated with truth, justice and the american way. That simplicity an antidote for the hugeness of the problem, the overwhelming vastness of the issue.

This is not who we are. We are better than locking kids up in cages. We are better than that. Stop it.

Anyone, even those who would rather bury their heads in the sand can get behind it. Attacks of socialism or liberalism won’t stick to that. We are the good guys. The heroes. All that bull****.

I think it could work but first a lot of people are going to have to shut the **** up about a lot of other things. Once we win, then we do what they did and push through everything.

I love the old buildings and old houses still around there. I like how they resemble the Caribbean houses in Belize, Utila and Corn Islands - basically anywhere that didn't get taken over by the Spanish.
