I know a Trumpkin who buys marijuana et al online and sells them to friends at a markup. This is a STEM guy who makes six figures at his office job. When he explained his setup to me, we had the following exchange.

Never played or downloaded the client or studied it for more than 5 minutes but that still doesn't feel THAT fluid. Seems like a derivation on those subscription online poker clubs (e.g., ClubWPT.com) where everyone pays $50/month or something for tokens, the tokens are used to enter tournaments and then the payouts are cash, but it's ultimately a closed ecosystem and fish can't get money in and ergo there's no way to really profit long term.

Obviously here you can ostensibly deposit but just on very first blush it feels like the whole "buy our virtual currency where you play and win more crypto currency which is then exchanged for $wee$ca$h! which then you get actual money for!" is still a bridge too far for most people to really enjoy casually. I dunno, this is perhaps a very uninformed hottake but I think this model has been around for a while.
