Lol ponied. It’ll be like the SOS position though when he teased us with mitt Romney, it’ll end up being Bondi in the end.
Trump's dedication to repeatedly and publicly humiliating Chris Christie is his only positive quality, and I'm glad to see he's leveraging this assault on political norms to do so again.

Bob, you've been doing some fantastic posting lately.

I don’t think anything will live up to Trump just constantly publicly humiliating Jeff Sessions over and over. That was magical.

Thanks! This is probably the peak of the posting-quality bubble though.

I can see him picking Christie. The joy he had ****ting over Sessions again and again must be a tough high to give up, Christie is a ready made **** receptacle for Trump. Can just carry on from day 1.

Tastes can differ, but the fly in the soup for me is that JBS is pretty obviously a dedicated white nationalist and got to use his position as AG to advance the cause. You just know he views himself as a martyr. Christie is more amoral and didn't really get anything for his humiliations. It's just so pure.

Chris Christie’s wordless screaming

Bolded is exactly what this is. They leak Christie's name so that every one focuses on him, breathes deeply and thinks it'll all be fine... Then they name Kobach and Trump makes some Christie is too fat to be AG jokes at next week's rally.

The worst part of this is that we're now at the point where the reasonable option they leak to calm everyone down is Chris ****ing Christie.

When Chris Christie hangs out around the Robert F Kennedy Department of Justice Building, he hangs out around the Robert F Kennedy Department of Justice Building.

I know Mueller saw this coming along with quite literally everyone else on the planet, but the idea that he has a hard-on for Trump because of some unimpeachable moral standards and thus created deadman switches and contingency plans based on that seems as wistful as the gravity of the office sobering Trump. Not trying to be negative, but WTF, y'all? Like, if this was his disposition wouldn't he have dropped the god damned indictments BEFORE it is too late?
11-08-2018 , 04:02 PM
All that deadman switch stuff is the province of #Resistance grifters like the Krassensteins and Eric Garland. Mueller is a cop and a Republican, he's really like the most fitting Pied Piper for these people.

Mueller took down Trump’s National Security Advisor, Campaign Manager, Deputy Campaign Manager and personal attorney in a little more than a year.... the issue is that the Trumpkins are actually pro-shenanigans.

Not sure if you are aware of The_Mueller on reddit, but its full of #resistance people masturbating daily to various pictures of Mueller wearing suits.

Dems/#resistance people just desperately want a superhero to save them from the bad man.

Oh, come on! How could you not love the spectacle? Whatever you think of Sessions he sat there and got **** on almost from the start and hung in there like Rocky, just to go the distance. I loved it and I'm going to miss it.

DVaut1 take on Mueller is off point. Mueller knows what he's doing, as do the people who work for him. They aren't amateurs of the type that comprise the administration.

Right. It's really kind of, I think, a failure of the left writ large. I've made this point before but people who are intuitively angry with Trump or frightened by Trump but sort of distrustful they can channel their energies into any institution like a political party or ideological movement, and so devolve into fetishizing the Special Counsel's Office -- they're really wayward souls. We've actually witnessed and documented lots of people who saw dark fascism in Trump rising from Day 1, and have been sort of imagining there's like One Weird Trick or this one report or this one event or opponent who will take him down. I think tons of the Resistance grift is obviously manipulative but the marks for the scam have genuine political energies that are just directed in all the wrong ways. It's just a mark of institutional collapse, really. A healthier electorate would have an opposition party you could trust. In this universe of ineffectual and co-opted Democrats, tons of people are just left adrift to make up their own fantasies about how to thwart Trump instead. Ergo you get memes of Mueller as Iron Man or whatever the ****.

Obviously some (Eric Garland for instance) are mentally unwell but they exist everywhere.

DVaut,

You’re right generally but wrong about this particular guy. Mueller may well fail, but it will be because of GOP politicians, not Bob Mueller, Republican FBI guy, letting him off for the team.
11-08-2018 , 05:08 PM
I mean sure, I can guess Mueller is a responsible enough civic servant but that's sort of the point, he's not a partisan whose goal is to take down Trump and so we can dismiss a bunch of effective conspiracy theories that he's set up Dead Man Switches and Donald Trump Jr is secretly indicted. I'm not saying Mueller is going to soft-peddle Trump because he's a Republican, but turn that around, that a bunch of these fantasies have morphed what seems like a more or less by-the-book cop into some partisan operative who is laying traps for Trump like that kid in Home Alone set for the criminals, that doesn't really make sense why he would be motivated to do that except that people have projected their own fantasy scripts into the investigation.
