Jeff Bezos Is Now Worth Over 0 Billion Jeff Bezos Is Now Worth Over 0 Billion

To put that in perspective, he could fix the Flint water issue 1800 times, end world hunger, and still have over $20 billion left over.

This brings up a few questions:
  • Does Bezos have a moral responsibility to use his wealth to help others?
  • If Bezos does, does that mean other billionaires also have that responsibility?
  • What would be the best usage of that money?
  • If you were Bezos, what would you do with your money?
  • Would giving out literally billions of dollars to various organizations, governments, and/or people actually make a difference?

If I were Bezos, I think I'd put about 1 billion away for myself and family - we would still be absurdly rich - and then use the rest to "fix" things.

But how to do that?

What would be some of the best ways to use all of this money for the good of the world?

I think he does bear some responsibility as the richest person in the world to set a good example. I don’t think anyone but Jeff bezos should decide exactly what that example is or what charities he should involve himself with.

I believe Bezos is one of the only top billionaires who hasn't signed the Giving Pledge.

Bezos is literally the poster child for how messed up the global tax system is.

Instead of a giving pledge, we should make him and his cronies just pay their fair share.

Iron Man suit for sure.

Like when those aliens show up with their big blue laser pointing at the sky, world hunger aint gonna cut it. Sure it sucks we have to drink lead but there's still a universe so...

Best use of the money is for him to figure out what things he cares about, and then set up foundations / programs to help with those issues. Basically what Carnegie, Gates and others have done.

Just giving money doesn't necessarily make a difference in and of itself. I think you have to give money to the right people and set up structures so that it is self-sustaining versus a one time thing.

If I were Bezos, I would do what you suggest and set aside money for myself and my family and then use the rest for fixing things. This would include building my own private golf complex with 10 courses, stocking it with babes, and becoming the golfing version of Dan Bilzerian minus the Instagram. After that I would figure out how to replace the educational system with something designed to prepare kids for the modern world, versus the one we have now designed to produce robots for the industrial age.

I saw an interview with Bill Gates a few months ago and taxes are up. Bill mentioned he has paid more taxes than anyone else but felt the richest people should pay more.

I talked about this with a relative who git upset and exclaimed, “Bill Gates is free to send all his money to the IRS, he doesn’t have to wait for taxes.”

So golf first, education second. Priorities!

He could buy a really really big turnip

The best way for him to start helping others would be paying his employees living wages and giving them decent working conditions instead of making them rely on food stamps and medical treatment when they overheat in the warehouses.

Giving them all $20k/year raises would only cost $12 billion.

If I was a billionaire one thing I would do is open up 5 new fully staffed blockbuster locations. We would only do vhs and do vcr rentals.

yacht jousting

100-million-dollar yachts purposely crashing into each other at full speed as bezos watches from a helicopter eating popcorn and snacks

"oh, that yacht's way better. look at that yacht. wow."

if i had 150 billion i'd pay top dollar to have The Three Body Problem made into an epic tv series

An old couple would come into my blockbuster not understanding
My reason for opening one and they would be like where is your dvd section
And the manager would be like we don’t do dvds vhs is the future and the old lady would look at her husband and say Phil I told you we didn’t need a DVD player.

I've heard MS-13 is a colossal problem, maybe they'll just do us all a favor and string him up.
