Years ago I knew a guy who posted on another forum who was one of the greatest trolls I'd ever seen. Absurd, inflammatory and hilarious in perfect proportions. Then some people met him IRL and turns out he wasn't trolling, he was just a really weird guy.

Yea, of all the posts TS has made I'm inclined the believe that one was closest to reality, *shrug*

I've been an Apple guy since iphone surpassed the Blackberry but I'm getting sick of their bull****. Their price points are ****ing absurd. There's a chance that he's the real deal, but there's also a reason why all his "proof" sidebets involve him proving something other than posting trades. eg "I bet you're not a world traveling trader" "I'll give you 3 to 1 that I can prove I'm in random european city"

He's obviously full of **** but doesn't seem to be broke (Western Unioning a guy 500 for no reason other than to maintain status on a messageboard = has money). My vote is for trust fund baby, he has probably turned like 2 mill into 2.2 mill and thinks he is awesome. The "six figure days" thing is a giveaway, no gambler thinks like that. The group I'm in has six figure days, win or loss, on the reg (the majority of days) but the idea that we'd use big wins or losses as justification to behave differently is absurd.

I got off expensive phones mostly for not having money, but I was just as happy with the $120 android I last got as I was with the $800 phone before that. I guess I'm a year (or maybe less) behind in processor speed or something, but buying top of the line phones is definitely not worth it for me.

It reminds me of some time around 1999 when a friend of mine paid $6500 for a top of the line laptop. You could get a perfectly good laptop then for $1200 or something, but the premium for the latest thing was huge back then.

I can see him spending $500 just to keep up the ruse. Dude is pathological.

The charitable view of him is that hes a trustfarian who doesn't need a 9 to 5 and enjoys trolling people online to prove to himself how gullible people are (which is true of course and is why he posted the "confession").
Once or twice he extends his arguments too far (probably out of boredom) and the troll becomes clear eg 'homosexuality is no different to bestiality save a few decades' and 'I could've won this bet several times over except I was having sex in a hot tub'.

The more of his posts about his claimed lifestyle I read the more I pity him for being so insecure, angry and unhappy.

Still rocking the 3310, will never get a smartphone until they literally won't sell you anything else, which is hopefully never.

I miss my old Nokia and I'd go back to one in a flash if it wasn't for maps and bus times, and music to drown out the inane chatter on public transport.

The 3310 is 3G and can play music and even stream radio, though I only use locally stored files, because even 3G stuff is too close to smartphonery. I assume it can access Google maps, though I don't know.

If I could get weather radar on my basic flip phone I'd revert immediately. It's pretty the only non-phone/text thing I ever use.
