Details one confirmed murder that a client did on his own after trying to use the site, and another questionable one that police ruled a suicide but was very likely a murder.

Also points out some incredible incompetence/nonchalance from the FBI/NCA (the UK's FBI, I think?) as the hacker basically giftwraps them info of "hey, this guy in your jurisdiction paid thousands of dollars worth of bitcoin to have someone murdered" and they mostly ignore him, except for the time they swarm his apartment with a SWAT team to arrest him on suspicion of being part of the site. Oh and the time they warn him that hacking the hitman site to get this info is illegal.

remember that felons can vote in FL now measure? You were wondering how R's were gonna figure out how to counter that?

Well they did, https://www.businessinsider.com/flor...Ptrn5vrC0yCxko

They decided to wait until the new gov to implement it. Gov has stated gotta have legislature or else lol no. Which in FL means lol no.

Hilarious that Reason, like The Weekly Standard before it, is a money-losing operation that exists for rich people to pay to have their propaganda spread into the the world

Oh, and on the subject of libertarianism:

Current Affairs interviewed Matt Levine. I actually don't love the discussion, except for this one take from Levine in a derail from talking about Martin Shkreli which is great:

Quote:
I’m not a big believer in putting people in prison if it can possibly be avoided. And I think that there are a lot of people who are like, we should not put nonviolent first-time offenders in prison, and then there are people who are like, “Actually we should go way beyond that and significantly reduce prison for repeat and violent offenders,” and then there are people who are like, “every nonviolent first-time offender who insider-trades”—the most ridiculous minor crime—”should go to prison for 30 years.” I really think the evidence is so overwhelming that every time we move to create harsher punishments for some thing—because we see rich white people who have done that thing and we want them to not get away with it—every time that happens it leads to increased incarceration for poor people of color. That’s like a universal law. So when people are like, “oh, I’m a prison abolitionist, but all white-collar criminals should go to prison,” that means low-income mortgage brokers who are not the people making billions of dollars are going to prison for financial crimes. Always, always, always, always, always, means that. It’s such a clear rule and disappointing tactically to say we should put more white-collar criminals in prison. Like, “Martin Shkreli should go to prison and only him.” No, it doesn’t work that way.

Sounds like Democrats need to reach across the aisle and have bipartisan discussions. I'm sure everyone just wants the best for Florida.

I'll finish off my spam for the moment with Nathan J. Robinson's appeal to the disaffected: join the left!

The article is directed at former Jordan Peterson followers, but makes a good case for liberalism for young people as a whole:

Quote:
We also care about you. Depression and anxiety are widespread among young people today, and it’s not because they haven’t bothered to stand up straight and clean their rooms. It’s because we live in a scary, lonely world, one where support networks have eroded and people in our generation face increasingly precarious futures.

Nobody on the right has any answers for this. If you don’t believe me, ask them. They don’t have solutions for climate change. They just either deny it or pretend it won’t be so bad. They don’t have solutions for health care—they have no plausible plan for making it so an ambulance ride costs less than $1000. They don’t care if your boss treats you like ****, or you get laid off and lose your insurance, or you can’t afford your rent. They’re not thinking about how to make it so you can afford an education and decent housing, or how to rebuild community bonds. The right are the ones that traffic in “shame”—everything is your fault if you fail. If you suffer, it’s probably because you deserved it. Should have worked harder. On the left, we don’t buy that crap. We know that when problems affect millions of people, it’s not helpful to simply blame their individual defects. We’ve got to work together and help each other out.

It's a great point. Don't give prosecutors, police, and prisons more tools. Period.

His EV return is greater than he would have got if he put his money in a savings account and he's calling it theft. Lol libertardians.

Sorry a small portion of your millions didn't yield the maximum returns, returns made possible by a society undergirded by social security and laws that prevent the common man from putting you in the guillotine where you belong.

That seems fair, but he’s also assuming he’s making $120k straight out of college and not paying anything for life/disability insurance. **** this whiny piece of ****.

Good news guys

SS is invested 100% in treasuries so his 5% return number is somewhat of an overestimation.

I strongly agree that some dude with a "libertarian-in-chief" Twitter account should not be getting 37 thousand a year from the government. Not a suggestion of an enlightened society imo.

LOL Blow Peenerman. iirc this guy was one of the biggest Iran hawks on the Dem side, and now he's lobbying for the Chinese firm famous for being fined a billion dollars for selling proprietary US tech to Iran during our sanctions period. Dude never saw a corporation he wouldn't whore himself out to.
