Sigh. I guess you need this explained to you, so here goes. Blackface is not simply painting one's face black. The term obviously originated with minstrel shows and the like. However, when it's used today it basically refers to a non-black person painting their face black to portray a black person. In the case of TT it was probably fine, for the reasons beaten to death ITT. However, it is nearly always not fine. Even if the intent is to not offend.

As to whether RDJ was doing blackface, he clearly was. Here's some reporting on it. I guess everyone else just got it wrong:
