Yeah, because saturated fat was the devil incarnate for cardiovascular health. Then it turned out that only certain saturated fats are bad for cardiovascular health, that even the "bad" ones weren't as bad as people thought, and that high-carb diets are worse for inflammation and cardiovascular health than high-fat diets are. "Trick" is kind of a slanted way of putting it. It's just easier to eat a pile of calories eating carbs. I could probably eat 1000 calories worth of pasta, eating the same of chicken breast would involve eating 2.25lb raw weight of chicken in a sitting, which is like impossible. I don't think that's the only benefit personally btw, but it's an open question.
