Yeah my family owned a chain of 30 grocery stores when I was growing up so I spent my first fifteen years of work in the grocery business. I worked in most aspects of the business from warehouse picker to store manager to perishable buyer.

I'd feel bad, but anyone that stupid was going to be separated from their money soon enough anyway.

Hey laywers ITT, I've got a therapist colleague who's considering some kind of lawsuit with his coworkers. They've been employed at the practice for multiple years, no other jobs, and are given guidence on when they work their hours as well as how they go about doing and billing for their work. They basically work 30+ hours per week at the practice and split their fees with the practice.

They want to sue for misclassification (they're 1099); they think they've been given a raw deal as they've not gotten any benefits and haven't had their employer pay the 7.5% FICA split or whatever it breaks down to. They figure over 10+ years they've been shorted close to $100k in actual money and benefits being not offered.

Think they have grounds to stand on? It's Virginia FWIW. Obviously not looking for legal advice perse just curious what y'all think.

they're trying to mirror the dossier, except they hate reading so instead of actually releasing evidence they just want to talk about it like they see liberals do in such a hurtful and unfair manner that pains them greatly and makes them grasp for any kind of revenge
