WTF is Hamas doing? Why don't they just make nice with Egypt, get the crossing open and then try to build up the economy and actually do some governing? Or make nice with the PA in the West Bank and get all those people's salaries back? Or *gasp* make nice with Israel? Instead they try to build up their armies, shoot rockets at Israel and incite riots on the border. They actually had a shot at a viable proto-state at one point in Gaza.

I was in an Israel-Palestine thread in another forum and I tried to get people's opinions on what practical steps that Hamas, as the governing entity of Gaza, could take to help alleviate their situation. They've been dealt a ****ty hand but you still gotta play your hand to the best of your ability. I suggested they make nice with Egypt so that they could open the border and end the blockade. After all, if they can move goods and people freely through Egypt then it doesn't matter at all what Israel does. I mostly got ignored but the responses I did get were "Don't try to shift the blame to Arab states" and "It's the occupier's responsibility to fix the situation not the occupied."

They've wanted Israel to attack Gaza for months knowing that when they do people like you will ignore these acts of terrorism, and will be "outraged" by Israel's retaliation on Hamas targets, while ignoring Hamas targeting Israeli civilians.

every public street sign, every public anything, is written in hebrew, arabic, and english. just about everywhere. I just visited and traveled through almost the entire country anf the only area where i did not see arabic was up north in ultra orthodox tsfat.

Israel has a Jewish majority and as long as it does there is no need to state "this is the Jewish state." And if hypothetically Israel did lose its Jewish majority they would just repeal it anyway.

Need independent verification for anything coming out of Israel. Dead soldier story could easily be fake cover story for the apartheid laws that should see Israel removed from the UN in line with other apartheid states.

And in any case if the story is true the kill ratio is still about 100/1

There were restrictions placed on South Africa, but the only country kicked out of the UN has been Taiwan and that was just because of China.
