Dan Le Batard gets a ton of angry messages from his listeners when he discusses social justice issues on his sports show. On a typical 3-4 hour show he'll devote one 12-minute segment to a topical story. Sometimes he'll do multiple segments if the story is particularly worthy of a fuller discussion.
On occasion Dan will read one or two of the "that last segment [which lasted around 12 minutes] was terrible; quit talking about 'politics' and get back to sports" messages sent in from his predominantly young white audience.
Dan will then take a deep breath and say something like "I understand that some of you are tired of hearing about racism and social injustice in today's America. If you feel that way, all I ask of you is to imagine how blacks and other minorities in this country who are subject to racism and social injustice 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, feel. If you are tired of hearing about it for 12 minutes, don't you think they are more than tired of experiencing it every minute of every day?"
It is quite powerful and hopefully reaches some in his audience.
