we will see what sort of policies he puts forward, but he's not off to a good start.

my brother pre-election about why to support trump.

1) curbing illegal immigration

2) tax rates favorable for business and economic growth

3) trade toughness

4) projects image of toughness on international stage, will fight terrorism aggressively

5) no PC nonsense, no corruption, true populist candidate

6) will repeal and replace obamacare

Sorry but for a PhD your brother sounds like a huge rube. Also you kinda do too since Trump blatantly lied throughout his campaign but it's not like you have credentials to protect. Like he got a whole PhD and his entire philosophy is just typical Republican/praise for authoritarian derp.

More like people who waited until after Trump was elected to start being concerned about his constant lying. Also yes I would consider most people who listed those things as positives about Trump to be morons, as well as science deniers like Trump himself. Interestingly people with conservative opinions that I can actually respect pretty much all went for Johnson or even Clinton; the types who cluck about being a strong decision maker and a businessman and other BS are generally in the moron category.

Hey guys, we have an answer, it's two days into Trump's presidency.

The most annoying part of that is "I thought it would be entertaining".

Thanks dude, now the US has people in charge who are discussing making their own private intelligence agency, with blackjack and hookers.

There's no sensible way to respond to Ins0 that wouldn't be banworthy.

01-23-2017 , 12:50 AM
I don't think a conservative who hangs out on a liberal heavy forum counts as average.

Wasn't Inso denying his obv trump vote this whole time? Or am I thinking of rara?
01-23-2017 , 01:10 AM
Not 100% sure but I think Inso was a Trump voter all along (of the "bro Trump wouldn't be my first choice, but emails" variety). rara voted for Johnson I think.

He said he wasn't going to, but on Election Day said he did.
01-23-2017 , 01:12 AM
Then ineedaride said he voted trump cause balance of power or some such bull**** but that he didn't think about how reps would control every aspect of government.
01-23-2017 , 01:35 AM
heh

What did you expect?

I remember distinctly because of the absurdity of it: Inso0 claims he voted for Trump because he was afraid single-payer would result in healthcare being taken away from old ladies. Bull**** if I've ever heard it, his apology should not be accepted, that guys tilts the hell out of me a lot worse than most other conservative-leaning posters probably because I want to like him and can't bring myself to.

Ty. I've been meaning to go reread ineedaride's posts concerning his vote.
01-23-2017 , 09:31 AM
Never. Unfortunately I've come to the realization that people are innately unchangeable, mostly, so the average Trump voter really can't be reasoned with no matter what information you might give him. Their alternative facts are their reality and thats pretty much it.
01-23-2017 , 12:05 PM
That's nice but people like Inso are 100% voting Trump again in 4 years. Though they'll probably acknowledge he's bad and act like it was a difficult decision but the democrats made them do it.

Sherrod Brown won't turn over his Yahoo emails from 1998, man, how can you trust him?
01-23-2017 , 01:09 PM
Seriously though I've seen a surprising amount of this over Spicer+Conway, the election makes people crazy partisan, when you go back to day-to-day real life it's humbling to wake up and realize an insecure liar is in the White House.

I guess because there's no real counter-spin. Everyone has seen the pictures, and right wingers aren't like ideologically invested in crowd size denial or whatever, "alternative facts" are just lies and everyone knows that.
01-23-2017 , 01:10 PM
Watching Trump campaign against a guy who majored in RUSSIAN STUDIES might be entertaining in a morbid way.
01-23-2017 , 01:26 PM
I guess any federal workers who voted for him may have regrets since he just put a freeze on their raises.
01-23-2017 , 01:29 PM
On December 27th Obama signed an executive order giving federal workers a 2.1% pay raise. This is Trump's War on Christmas!

If only every liberal public figure would just shut up for the next four years. Then for sure Trump will be out. Come on people - you can do this!
