Awesome touch that the Air Force guy (a paramedic) who nearly had his thumb cut off went to help a wounded passenger after the gunman was subdued.

Particularly pleased to see that the young woman on the left is wearing a T-shirt with the legend, 'Awesome'.

The current story, this is his defense/statement according to his lawyer, is that he's a homeless guy who found a bag of weapons and just wanted to rob a few people on the train so he could eat. He just brought the guns so he could shoot a window and jump through it so he could escape after robbing them. I cant imagine what being that lawyer feels like. Im extremely happy that Spencer guy survived, seems like quite the ride.

Many allied war operations wouldn't have been necessary if the French hadn't gotten their asses kicked so thoroughly after a second german assault through belgium.

They weren't so keen on repeating the feat 20 years later in what surely would have meant destruction of Paris and it's great cities and populations. Easy to cast stones when the US's great civilian scare of the two world wars was an alleged bomb from a balloon in the middle of nowhere or the loss of a hundred people on a cruise ship likely carrying contraband.
Ahhh yesss, world war 1, where the great powers of europe led horses and the masses into machine gun fire with zero regard for human life. It is pretty brave to charge with bayonets in this uniform without metal helmets:

Horribly ****ing stupid of course, but they only took the whole war to adjust and never actually forced the germans off their land before the treaty.

I fully expect a counseling when they get back for not being clean shaven while on leave. What a disgrace. They are in front of the whole world and they have beards.

Yeah, the French coward jokes have always been a black eye highlighting American ignorance of how many millions of French died in the world wars, especially when compared to American casualties.

Enforce the grooming standard.

Oh yeah. Easily the most realistic depiction of how absurd military life is. Driving around with no maps, dealing with a captain who is literally crazy, chugging RipIts, useless senior NCOs, and everybody complaining about everything. That's exactly what it's like.

Thanks. I really enjoyed the series but awfully glad I did not live it.

Every Marine saves a dozen European children's lives every day before breakfast, so how is this even news?

Nobody itt has questioned the French's will to fight, just their ability.

They gave these guys the Legion of Honor (French equivalent of the Medal of Honor). Since it's a big deal, the men from France wore their fancy pants (and presumably danced). And our boys wore their finest golf shirts. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Here's another picture where our president realizes that he needs to find shorter persons to give medals to:

Six passengers are getting medals. Solid medal/terrorist ratio.

Why won't Obama use the words Islam, Muslim or terrorist when describing these three Americans? Wake up America!

This is so bad it is laughable. Yeah you need 8 clips of ammo to rob a train. Come on dude. At least say Gerard Depardieu was telling you to do it or something and try to claim crazy.

Please change title to heroic US professor, college student, french guy, british guy, and two US military service members...

Apparently the terrorist guy says he's "dumbfounded" that they think he is a terrorist. He claims all those clips of ammo were for robbing people.
