The jury selection in the Laquan McDonald /Jason Van Dyke trial concluded today after close to a week. 12 jurors and 4 alternates selected. Tomorrow, the defense will decide whether to use the recently selected jury or have a bench trial. This seems odd.

With the Texas case, we’ve conclusively established that for a disturbing portion of people there is no possible set of facts that merits culpability.

Is everyone's local FOX affiliate kind of like Fox News lite? Orlando's sure as hell is and it looks like FOX 4 NEWS caters to north TX deplorables as well

But there's another possible explanation. That they were already there.
It's a little hard to tell but in the video it looked to me like she was wearing a vest when she was pacing back and forth and talking on the phone, do they normally get issued > 1 vest?

Well, they managed to get through the selection process with just 1 black person making the cut in a county where blacks make up 24% of the population, so I guess it's a tough choice

I assume we will be getting the results of the search of the cop’s apartment any minute now

Ok, that explains it (and he may have had beer in the fridge too.) No angel here.

We all know marijuana makes people very violent and dangerous, especially when mixed with melanin. Best to just preemptively kill anyone who possesses it before they get high and kill you.

Imo Fox 4 is slacking for not bringing up that time he got sent to detention.

did he play video games?

This is a terrible idea. What if nobody knew about the marijuana until the post mortem search warrant? Cops can't be waiting until they find marijuana to preemptively kill black people.

Something like that would explain why his door was left unlatched, if in fact it was. But I think if something like that had gone down, a butcher knife would have found its way from his dishwasher into his hand. Usually when people concoct a cover-up it's designed to keep them out of rather than ensuring they go to jail.

His family's lawyer stated that while the hallway and doors were identical, his door had a planter and red doormat that hers did not. In addition, the door automatically closes by design.

Yeah I was going to post that but held off a bit. The door is one of those designs where if open it swings shut and it swings shut pretty forcefully so not like he just left the door open, most likely the door would have been shut on its own unless there was something blocking the door path or the specific door had something that stopped it from closing.

The media was saying they didn’t know each other which I assume is what the police told them which is what she told the police. Manslaughter seems impossible is she’s lying there, and go ahead and add some obstruction charges. Dumb thing to lie about if there are phone calls etc between them, parents/friends knew etc.

What about this makes her sound smart?
09-14-2018 , 04:40 PM

Ho Lee ***

She's gonna get away with murder isn't she?

I bet she went over there in her uniform to try to scare him, he wasn't having any of it and she lost her head and shot him. Either that or it was just pre-meditated murder.

Can't imagine the current climate of cops killing indiscriminately as long as they say "I was scared", backed up by SCOTUS, could lead rogue cops to believe they can get away with murdering people they don't like. Oh wait, yeah I can.

Oh wow. Looking for the noise complaints info, I came across this from the Dallas Morning News, which is totally not in the tank for one party in this encounter with the headline "Evidence backs up Amber Guyger's story; Botham Jean backers see 'smear campaign'"

They're just re-printing claims from police sources, which of course always speak honestly about officer-involved shootings:

Quote:
Evidence from Botham Jean’s apartment supports Dallas police Officer Amber Guyger’s account that she shot Jean from across the room as she stood inside his apartment door, two law enforcement officials with direct knowledge of the case told The Dallas Morning News.

The evidence, at least so far, doesn’t conclusively show whether the door was unlocked or ajar.
There's this on the noise complaints:

Quote:
Authorities say Guyger, who lives directly below Jean
Quote:
There had also been complaints about noise coming from Jean’s apartment. Merritt told CNN the complaints came from Jean’s “immediate downstairs neighbors.” He did not say whether Guyger had complained.
Quote:
Merritt and the law enforcement official said there had been a noise complaint the day Jean was shot.
edit: If she did work a 15 hour shift that day before the shooting, not sure if the timeline makes sense for her having made the last noise complaint

I just can't get over that ****ing headline. Totally unbiased police sources told us the evidence backs her up, so that's 100% confirmed fact; meanwhile, the super biased "Botham Jean backers" somehow "see" a smear campaign, but can objective voices like ours really know for sure if there is one?

Texas is such a piece of **** state, nuke it from orbit

Not gonna be easy to report if the police and DA stonewall you on everything. Gotta have that sweet sweet access.

Cop executes somebody for making too much noise while black, will likely get away with it.

I would like to take this opportunity to remind you who is REALLY disrespecting America:

Here's one of the videos 'debunking' the door ajar claims. Seems clear it could not be ajar unintentionally, possibly if you closed it like a ninja it could be left that way. The tale about putting in a key and it just swinging open seems 100% BS (assuming this really is someone in the same apartment building, obvs).
