Seems like it's a slow period of police injuring black people in the US, but don't worry, Australia got you covered:

Quote:
West Australian Police are conducting an internal investigation into the actions of officers after a bystander filmed an 18-year-old man being hit by a police car and injured in the south-eastern Perth suburb of Thornlie.

Video posted to social media shows the man walking along Wilfred Road when an unmarked white police SUV with its emergency lights on swerves in front of him. He is next seen lying on the ground.
I don't think it's mentioned in the linked article, but the man was Aboriginal. It's unclear from the video whether the car deliberately hit the man, or whether it was trying to cut him off, car chase style, but either is unacceptable.

Chances of something actually being done by the internal review are non-zero.

never a shortage of examples. this cop got charged with assault, over jaywalking!

The police really need to apply better psych screenings to applicants to weed out those sort of *******s. I'd rather have conscripts than volunteers like that.

Young black man who died in the custody of four white Louisiana deputies had "significant traumatic injuries" to his neck consistent with asphyxiation, according to the coroner, who classified the case as a homicide.

The headline describes him as an "ex-cop" (which is technically true NOW but wasn't at the time he did this) because the media is so ****ing conditioned to go along with this **** that even when they're finally coming around they still can't break the habit.

To help balance out the news. This cop plead guilty to punching a white woman while she was restrained. She did take the punch like a trailer park housewife though.

Not really a balance though. Punch a white person go directly to jail, shoot and kill a black person pass go collect paid leave.

Edit : not jail I guess but community service for a guilty plea.

going to be pretty hard for the cops to convince a jury the guy choked himself to death while in handcuffs.
05-19-2018 , 04:11 PM
Apparently freddie gray broke his own neck while handcuffed so shouldnt be too hard

Jefferson Parish is where David Duke emerged from. Those cops are probably fine.

A video of Milwaukee police arresting an NBA player with a taser for parking illegally is about to be released, and it sounds like it's bad!

Milwaukee Braces for Video of Bucks Player Sterling Brown’s Arrest https://nyti.ms/2LjEwet

Quote:
In recent days, Mayor Tom Barrett has voiced concern about the images that appear on the video, which could be released as early as Wednesday. “I’m going to let the release of that speak for itself, but yes, I definitely have concerns after watching that video,” the mayor told reporters this week.

...
Mr. Brown was briefly jailed but never charged with a crime. About 18 hours after his arrest, he played 27 minutes in a basketball game against the Brooklyn Nets. He had visible bruises and marks on his face.

The arrest of Mr. Brown took place in the early hours of Jan. 26 outside a Walgreens store about three miles from the BMO Harris Bradley Center, where the Bucks played their home games at the time. The police said they had confronted Mr. Brown for being illegally parked and used “an electronic control device” during the arrest.

Video is out, not sure where there's one with sound but...

The Bucks have his back

Quote:
The abuse and intimidation that Sterling experienced at the hands of Milwaukee Police was shameful and inexcusable. Sterling has our full support as he shares his story and takes action to provide accountability.

Unfortunately, this isn't an isolated case. It shouldn’t require an incident involving a professional athlete to draw attention to the fact that vulnerable people in our communities have experienced similar, and even worse, treatment.
This is all over a PARKING VIOLATION. You can escape being poor but the nation's finest will never let you escape being black.

Also worth remembering why you never, ever trust police statements when they're covering their asses

Back when the arrest happened:

Quote:
“To be clear, the offender was not arrested solely for illegally parking a vehicle,” said Mike Crivello, the president of the Milwaukee Police Association, an officers’ union, in a statement around the time of the arrest. “His actions determined the outcome.”
Today, MPD statement:

Quote:
The Department conducted an investigation into the incident which revealed members acted inappropriately and those members were recently disciplined.

What kind of country are we living in when you can’t park horizontally across two handicap parking spaces, and then act combative to the police calling you out on it without getting tazed?
05-25-2018 , 06:05 AM
I'd guess the kind of country where even after the police admit fault some people still want to play pin the blame on the black guy.
