Did your mommy tape the award on the fridge?

P.S. Most individuals with your views towards race relations simply say "but some of my best friends are black."

oscar, straighten out this prison thing for us, please. why did you go? how long? etc. i'm not judging. most of my family are/were criminals, some more successful than others.

For someone who's understanding of housing discrimination is that sometimes poor white people can't afford mansions, you are awfully arrogant.

Maybe not here but basically every other post on Facebook by my conservative relatives is about how racism will never go away if we keep bringing it up.

I have observed the same thing. Racism denial has become an unquestioned sacred cow in some conservative circles. Not speaking about it sounds like the way for it fester or become a forgotten mistake to repeat again.

DUI incident that resulted in many years in prison sounds like you killed someone.
04-14-2015 , 07:58 PM
Any white man who fought with the police would be just as likely to get shot.

Right?

There's like a >90% chance that everything OscarWilde is saying is a lie. The dude is a below average writer (things like using "less" when "fewer" is appropriate, prepositions that don't make sense, etc) and claims that he's in the 95-99% of MCAT essays (not sure what that even means, tbh). He says he went to prison for 7+ years for a DUI, including 2+ years in solitary (???). Pretty unlikely even if he killed someone. He apparently was a star jump shooter at some college basketball camp.

Just a lot of things that don't really make a ton of sense.

Damn, you guys ran off the Rhodes Scholar!
04-15-2015 , 12:58 AM
Oops, guess I should have quoted the post he just edited. He claimed to be a Rhodes Scholar that went to prison when he was 19 and a better sports better than 99.9% of the population.

He also bragged about wearing a 1200$ suit while counting stacks of 10k wads in the back of his mom's car on the way to sentencing, paying for sports cars in cash and having 14k seized.

Assuming it's all true (lolllll) should he easy enough to find out who he is
04-15-2015 , 01:11 AM
Counting 10k wads yet couldn't afford a good enough lawyer to keep him from doing seven years in prison for DUI? haha

The only way a college kid gets 7 years for a DWI is if it's vehicular homicide. And lol about his spending two years in solitary, which would only happen to an alleged Rhodes Scholar if he was placed there for his own safety after repeatedly getting spit-roasted.

"Why is this thread about me? I just keep trying to brag about how smart and rich I am with stories bracketing how I killed someone."

I agree people should be more careful but because they reduce their ability to help not because they actually make things worse. For some approaches like the positive discrimination I want to see (for example, pushing for far more equal representation in the police using positive discrimination) it probably can cause a bit more racism in a few but the upside is huge.

The social transformation is multi-generations but that doesn't seem a reason not to make it happen faster or perhasps more importantly make it matter far less - great to get to no racists but in the meantime we can reduce the number of those racists in positions of authority and introduce laws/procedures that combat racism in practice. You make the point about social interaction helping which is definitely part of the solution and one way we can encourage that is by attacking the practices that encourage implicit segregation and reduce the presence of discriminated groups from public/authority type roles.

If you don't want the thread to become about you then stick mostly to the substance and ignore the bits making it about you. Not that I don't want to hear about your prison stories but maybe in another thread.

Does a guy bragging about his sports betting mean that TBAB has found politics?

My next prediction is that he tells us he turned down an offer to endorse Mexican beer.

You're nothing more than a boring, racist troll with an overactive imagination.

GTFO!

True change takes dedication to ACTIONS, not complaining and dissecting why the world is F'ed up. Among the greatest memories I have were several times having street tough 18-50 yo+ black men tear up and tell my parents what a wonderful son they raised for selflessly dedicating so much time and energy into helping them improve their education levels. Talk is cheap, actions are not.
If posting on 2+2 is so irrelevant to you, why are you here trying to convince us of your superiority?

I'm running a state campaign for raising the minimum wage to 15$. Does that count as doing something?

The workers tend to be female and/or people of color if that helps you decide.
