I can't believe you're this dense, but I'll make it as easy for you as I can. These cops got off and that is horrible. If there is anything else that can be done to hold them criminally responsible, then I'm all for that. Unfortunately, it seems like that there's nothing else that can be done as far as criminal charges go.
So, if we accept that there will be no criminal charges, then what is better: the police dept losing a massive civil suit or the police department facing no civil penalty at all. I would think that it's obvious that the former is preferable, and that was the point of my earlier post.
Simple enough?
An inquiry about the civil suit doesn't mean I don't think the lack of an indictment is a massive failure. The fact that these guys were not even indicted is terrible.
