Sep 5th trial date set for Jason Van Dyke in the cold blooded murder of Laquan McDonald. This should be an open and shut case if ever there was one (and there have been plenty). If this guy gets off with anything less than voluntary manslaughter followed by maximum sentencing, then demonstrations need to be carried out nationwide not only for justice in shootings of unarmed non-whites, but a rigorous protest demand for a change in laws. Until that SCOTUS decision in the 80s, 20 states allowed cops to shoot fleeing suspects to "effect an arrest", dispensing completely with self defense. Shooting suspects who flinch wrong was apparently the compromise position.
