"I'm a lecturer" christ f***ing spare me. My wife is an HBCU prof and is right there with me on this one, and I moonlight 1) at a children's hospital and 2) doing autism diagnostics while 3) my FT job is helping children & families as a therapist, so yeah I think my dogoodery points are where they need to be. I work like 70 hour weeks at a pretty modest rate and have bills like anybody else so you can f*** right off sir.
But before you do, please tell me how much of a haircut I can afford before ethically justifying ditching Medicaid clients. Clearly 30% + a huge uptick in cancellations isn't enough of a reason, but are there numbers that'd justify it or are you f***ing Professor Ghandi who only serves the poor free of charge?
If you got paid per class, 1/3 your students were on Medicaid, you got 30% less per Medicaid student & they skipped class twice as often as non-medicaid kids (and you don't get paid those days) would you consider not taking that population? What would the numbers have to be for you to pass on those students if your livelihood wasn't a tenured salary for 8 months of work per year and instead relied on payments per student per class year round?
I'm working endless hours to provide for my family, to the point that I see my toddler son 45 minutes in the AM and never again all day 2 or more times per week, often include 12 hr Saturdays & I wouldn't have to do so nearly so often if my revenue improved at my FT job but **** it AllThe****ingCheese tells me I can't stop taking my 'worst' clients so I better just work more hours!
"You should keep that to urself dib lol" how about instead you go **** yourself.
