Zombie Obamacare Repeal will NEVER DIE
Drowned God loves these repeal efforts.

Yea and it shifts the narrative from "republicans sought to unilaterally hammer through an abjectly terrible bill that would have been horrible for tens of millions of people" to "oh look at this shining star moderate republican who saved the day for us all, THANK GOD FOR SENSIBLE PATRIOT REPUBLICANS LIKE MR MCCAIN"

Theyre all scumbags

Graham/Cassidy seems objectively worse than AHCA, why would any GOP senator who opposed AHCA come around on this hot garbage? Plus RAND seems 100% against this, so you gotta get two of the three to flip now.

The donors are complaining that they haven't passed any healthcare/tax reform. Some Republicans will choose their donors over their constituents

Murkowski hasn't said anything either way, which is alarming, frankly.

But, I have no idea why she would vote for this but not the skinny repeal. This has more **** she hates in it.

I dont think its alarming, she will probably vote no and doesnt want to deal with the same level of personal harassment as last time when she took a pre-emptive position on it

It's amazing the way they flaunt their corruption, the brazenness of it. They are saying, almost in as many words, "Cut our taxes. That is what we pay you for." Donating to Republicans is the sickest investment for these guys. There is a decent chance an investment of a few tens of millions of dollars can pay off in tens of billions in tax cuts. Collectively the tax cuts on the 1% will reach into the trillions for a Republican plan. Mind boggling.

They're going to rub McCain's face in voting no last time and he's still going to vote for it.

When he croaks, they won't remember him for decades of ****ing people over.

They'll remember that he was captured in Vietnam, defended Obama against people calling him a secret Muslim from Kenya, and stopping an evil health care bill with a Commodus-style thumbs down sign.

Even if this bill passes now, it will be forgotten that this passed with his support. Instead they'll just remember the great stories.

Reminder to everyone that Bill Cassidy is an actual medical doctor. What a ****ing clown.

As is Rand Paul.

Doesn't the Paul Family run some sort of diploma mill? I assumed he was a fake doctor. Many doctors are narcissistic and have insane egos, so it doesn't really shock me that many have ridiculous political beliefs.

From Rand Paul Wikipedia. Had no idea this was possible.

Quote:
Paul dropped out of Baylor without completing his Bachelor's degree in either biology or English, when he was accepted into his father's alma mater, the Duke University School of Medicine. At the time, Duke did not require an undergraduate degree for admission to its graduate school. He earned an M.D. degree in 1988 and completed his residency in 1993.

They have to save money from "health care" to pass "tax reform"

As always, everything is explained by giving money to billionaires

Anybody wanna bet on whether carried interest survives?

And of course Tom Price is flying private on the taxpayer. Why not? These ****ing *******s have no shame.
09-19-2017 , 11:59 PM
Usually celebs are either vain or just play acting "the resistance" and I'm sure Jimmy will let me down eventually but he's been pretty stand up when it comes to health care and putting the word out there when he could just do a dumb joke or something

Politico doing their homework

Quote:
Price’s spokespeople declined to comment on why he considered commercial travel to be unfeasible. On one leg of the trip – a sprint from Dulles International Airport to Philadelphia International Airport, a distance of 135 miles – there was a commercial flight that departed at roughly the same time: Price’s charter left Dulles at 8:27 a.m., and a United Airlines flight departed for Philadelphia at 8:22 a.m., according to airport records.

Sample round-trip fares for the United flight ranged from $447 to $725 per person on United.com, though the price would have been lower if booked in advance or if Price’s party received government discounts. Similarly priced commercial flights also left from Reagan National Airport and Baltimore Washington International. By contrast, the cost of chartering the plane was roughly $25,000, according to Ultimate Jet Charters, which owns the Embraer 135LR twin jet which ferried Price and about 10 other people to the clinic event.

In addition, Amtrak ran four trains starting at 7 a.m. that left Washington’s Union Station and arrived at Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station no later than 9:58 a.m. The least-expensive ticket, on the 7:25 a.m. train, costs $72 when booked in advance. It is just a 125-mile drive from HHS headquarters in downtown Washington to the Mirmont Treatment Center outside of Philadelphia, where Price spoke. Google Maps estimates the drive as about two-and-a-half hours. A one-way trip was estimated by travel planners to be about $30 in gasoline per SUV plus no more than $16 in tolls.

That Kimmel bit is extraordinarily good, like better than 40 or so Senate Dems could do. For his audience, given his platform, the way he explains policy clearly and concisely? Damon/Kimmel 2020.

Matt Damon >>>>>>>>> trump.

Not even close.

Not that uncommon. I don't have a Bachelors - I need a 3 unit spanish class.

AFAIK the majority of med schools don't require an undergrad degree - they require some combination of classes in any number of areas + the MCAT. Interestingly, at least when I was applying, it seemed the "better" the school the less the requirements. As I recall, Harvard required one year of biology and about two years worth of undergrad classes with the MCAT. That was it. Nevada had just opened their 4 year school, and you needed Bio+Biochem+Organic+Physics and a bunch of other stuff...... From a practical point of view, unless you were some sort of Doogie Howser genius type, you needed more than just a year of biology anyway, because you needed a fair amount of chemistry/ochem/physics to get any sort of useful MCAT score. OTOH, if your dad donated a building, maybe not.

I'm gonna hang it up at the end of 2018, I think - might go back and take that Spanish class....

Some guy in NJ destroyed his congress critter at a town hall, expect it to go viral.

Why are random town hall dudes 100x better at this than actual candidates?

They don't have donors.
