They also wiped out the back ups.

hmm
One thing to note from that article:

Quote:
It could still be possible to recover relevant information from the server.

The FBI is known to have made an exact data image of the server in March when it investigated the security hole. The Oct. 18 email that disclosed the server wipe said the state attorney general’s office was “reaching out to the FBI to determine whether they still have the image.”

On Wednesday, it notified the court of its intent to subpoena the FBI seeking the image, according to a court document obtained by the AP that was Thursday emailed to lawyers in the case.

Atlanta FBI spokesman Stephen Emmett, responding to AP questions on Wednesday, would not say whether that image still exists. Nor would he say whether agents examined it to determine whether the server’s files might have been altered by unauthorized users.

Other backups also appear to be gone. In the same email to plaintiffs’ attorneys, assistant state attorney general Cristina Correia wrote that two backup servers were also wiped clean on Aug. 9, just as the lawsuit moved to federal court.
It's good that the FBI has an image of the server, assuming the image still exists. It's not good that the image was created in March because it will tell nothing of the Ossoff - Handel race.

(As a reminder, Ossoff was polling ahead of Handel up to the day before the election, which he then proceeded to lose by 5 points)

Republicans really do hate democracy.

So a server plus not one but TWO backups were erased, and I'm betting literally not one single goddamn mother****ing thing will happen to this guy or the nerds who did the wiping.
But Hillary poured bleach on her emails!

GOP outsources throwing people off voter rolls to automated software described as 99% inaccurate

dems are gonna need approx 30% more votes to win the next presidency. 50-75% more to gain seats in the house due to gerrymandering as well as the suppression via purging.
10-31-2017 , 06:47 AM
interesting first post after a decade of dormancy- mind sharing a source on those numbers?
10-31-2017 , 11:00 AM
Sounds like you think things are pretty polarized.
10-31-2017 , 11:03 AM
We already know dems need 55% of the House vote to take control, and that does get harder when republicans are throwing legitimate voters off the rolls with absolutely no warning and for no reason whatsoever.

We can only hope enough awvals get effected that they realize the blatant criminal scam the GOP is involved in and decide to care about it.

Binary options, as 2 party states are, tend to be.

Let's take this purging concept and apply it to other rights:

-If you go a year without marching in some sort of protest, your right to peaceably assemble in protest is purged

-Unless you can prove that you carried/fired a gun within the past year, your CCW permit is purged

-You haven't written an article for a newspaper or magazine or blog within the past year? No free press for you. Purged

-Have you been on trial in a criminal case within the past year? No? You no longer have the right to trial by jury of your peers.

-We haven't heard from you in over a year. Your right to freedom of speech is hereby purged.

-Haven't seen you at church in a while! It's fine, nobody's forcing you to worship, you no longer have freedom of religion tho

Of course none of this nonsense would withstand the scrutiny of even the dumbest traffic court judge, so why are the courts letting the states do this ****ing ****?

Until there are actual penalties for illegally purging voters other than simply having those voters restored to the rolls after time-consuming expensive litigation - why would the purgers ever stop doing this? Shame? LOLOLOLOLOLOL

From Ohio, to help with the 2012 gerrymandering redistricting Republicans sorted their districts by voting age blacks. The end result of the process was

Quote:
This document shows how a "Republican partisan index" was created for help in drawing districts that would result in Republicans being strong favorites to win 12 of Ohio's 16 congressional seats in each election, which is exactly what has happened during the elections with the new maps in 2012, 2014 and 2016.

The index was calculated using results from the presidential election in 2008, and the statewide races in 2010 for governor, auditor and secretary of state.
Other emails during the process noted how much various changes in the maps would improve the indexes, breaking it down to hundredths of a percentage point.

so I google around and get a link to the registration page. fill in all my info and send it and get this message:

yep awval, ohio makes it super easy to vote.

and its completely garbage that I need to fill this out bc it is the same address that I was last registered to.

Quote:
The Trump administration is leaning toward naming Thomas Brunell, a Texas professor with no government experience, to the top operational job at the U.S. Census Bureau, according to two people who have been briefed on the bureau’s plans.

Brunell, a political science professor, has testified more than half a dozen times on behalf of Republican efforts to redraw congressional districts, and is the author of a 2008 book titled “Redistricting and Representation: Why Competitive Elections Are Bad for America.”
Quote:
The pick would break with the long-standing precedent of choosing a nonpolitical government official as deputy director of the U.S. Census Bureau. The job has typically been held by a career civil servant with a background in statistics. It does not require Senate confirmation, so Congress would have no power to block the hire.
Seems bad.

We had experience with a right-wing government ****ing with the census here in Canada. It's bad.

Hope California enjoys all those Congressional Districts and Electoral Votes. Shame if anything happened to them.

Been reading a lot about how their status as a Sanctuary State has caused millions to flee from California for Wyoming and West Virginia, hopefully the Census Bureau (rescued from The Swamp) and Trump's Voter Fraud team can clear this up and set the record straight.

It turns out Alabama and Oklahoma have way more people living in them than California and New York. Huh, who woulda thunk it?
