If they had not done that their estimation was that by two o'clock that afternoon, $5.5 trillion would have been drawn out of the money market system of the United States, would have collapsed the entire economy of the United States, and within 24 hours the world economy would have collapsed.

Now we talked at that time about what would have happened if that happened. It would have been the end of our economic system and our political system as we know it.

Why is this a big deal?
What is wrong with having a dummy password like that? I am pretty sure for 99% of the things that people register for on the internet, it would not matter to them if their password was guessed by some stranger or not.

yeah that article uses a message board for its stats.

I use unique passwords for e-mail, bank, some websites, but for all the random subscription required crap i use the same generic one.

If I want to buy a small amount of gold to keep privately at home ($500 to 2K worth) what is my best bet? Where can I buy something without paying too much of a premium? Thanks

you can buy 1/2 oz Krugerrands, Eagles, Maple Leafs, etc.

However, the premium on these is going to be higher than on 1 oz coins.

Re: ***February Low Content Thread***

If I am in the US, what are the best actual websites to buy these from? I would probably buy 1 oz coins, how much of a mark up from the current market price can I expect to pay? I don't know too much about this, are there any sites which are considered good authorities for information? I've done some googling but it seems a little hard to separate the good from the bad, and the sites which are charging high markups from those that aren't. I figure a lot of people here have actually bought gold before and might be able to point me in the right direction.

kitco.com
apmex.com
local coin shops
pawn shops

When comparing local markups, be sure to remember to include shipping costs and any premium you assign to having to way 3+ weeks for delivery, acquiring a certified check/wire transfer, etc.
