Energy experts to visit every home to help them go green
Teams of energy advisers will visit every home in the country over the next two decades in an effort to make all the buildings in Britain carbon neutral.

Loans would then be made available to pay for the new technologies, that can cost thousands of pounds.

What do you think it means when a politician says: "We cannot afford not to act".

Curious if anyone can recommend another politics forum that--like this forum--is not entirely dominated by mainstream liberals or conservatives (that is, it has a mix), but that also--unlike this forum--is not dominated by ACists?

No offense meant by this (I do like this forum a lot); just looking to check out another/some others.

I've never seen a political forum that was not dominated by one group or another.

If you find one, let us know.

I say we find a liberal one and and invade it with Liberterians and ACists.

Find any forum populated by poor debaters and invade it, not necessarily with any ideological goal, but with the purposes of pointing out the inconsistencies in their arguments.

There's not many forums that are as easy to navigate or read as this one.

Where do you think these loans come from to spend thousands on "green upgrades" that will return hundreds in energy savings (i.e. loans that cannot possibly pay for themselves, and are hence gigantic uneconomical wastes of real resources)?

Lots of people have asked this question, there's really not a general-purpose, open-registration politics forum anywhere on teh web that comes close to this one IMO.

Highlight of Joey Gilbert-Jesse Brinkley fight (from original Contender series) in Reno last night:

announcer has the bell from the Jack Johnson fight in 1910 in Reno and is talking about getting some kind of congressional pardon for him-

"We've been working with Sen McCain.. (no reaction).... and Sen Harry Reid (nearly entire crowd erupts in boos and catcalls)"

also, 4u on Brinkley at -155 ftw

I went out for my birthday last night and ended up eating a whole Habanero pepper for the 3rd time. Waterboarded one night, Habaneros the next. What am I doing with my life?

I really like the "invade a forum with poor debaters" idea.

I've tried it...they just resort to petty personal attacks and name calling...it's pretty sad.

I'm kind of bummed out that we haven't had a ZOMG WE'RE GOING TO WAR WITH IRAN thread in a while.

You know, if enough of us go to another forum to "inform" people, we'll just create a spectacle there, just like we do here. They'll quit posting, and start cooking popcorn.
