***February Low Content Thread*** - Politics and Economics

CARD: I found that Ronald Reagan and both President Bushes treated the Oval Office with tremendous respect. They treated the Office of the Presidency with tremendous respect. And some of that respect was reflected in how they expected people to behave, how they expected them to dress when they walked into the symbol of freedom for the world, the Oval Office. And yes, I’m disappointed to see the casual, laissez faire, short sleeves, no shirt and tie, no jacket, kind of locker room experience that seems to be taking place in this White House and the Oval Office./

The President of the United States is highest office in government. You would expect a sort of professionalism in the White House.

That being said, Barack Obama shouldn't have to wear his jacket when he is sitting at his desk in the Oval Office. That is ridiculous. This just sounds like partisan rumour.

yea well i mean i'm still a freshman, i just had to do one semester of community college (last semester) cause after getting into fsu i slacked off and had a really ****ty last semester of high school. w/e though i'm here now.. business major atm and i'm deciding whether to minor in psych, polisci or econ

So, elliot, I didn't record the pwnage today, sorry, but, the good news is that there wasn't much pwnage anyways.

Maybe I'll go into the debate a little at another time, but basically, 13 people were signed up to talk today, so we all had very limited time. I did well, I thought, and had a few people agreeing with me (topic: non interventionism) two of them were muslim, and I talked to the whitey after class and he said he had some libertarian leanings but then I had to hand in my paper and the conversation ended. I mean, I pwned hardcore, but not nearly as much as I could have - I had lots of things I wanted to say that didn't have time for.

I did well on my American Govt midterm though, I think, topic: federalism :P
