The sex trafficking hysteria is insane in the US. Marriott hotels are literally accosting single woman who have the audacity to travel or eat alone under the ludicrous idea that a single woman must be a sex worker under the power of a pimp.

This is one of the few examples where the American left and right are equally stupid as can been seen by the paternalistic and disasterous FOSTA and SESTA.

I haven't looked through the Moynihan stuff yet, but this Ian Frisch guy, she cites him in the endnotes:

He replies "To me, these endnotes are incomplete, and do not cite the breadth in which my reporting was used. Also, she quotes Thomas in all but one instance as if he is speaking to her directly". Which, OK, maybe, but a full throated accusation of plagiarism, meh? I feel like Frisch actually didn't know he was in the endnotes, otherwise it's unethical for him not to point that out himself.

Some of the Moynihan stuff is pretty bad though, she's just lifting whole passages with virtually the exact same wording there, you can't do that even if you do cite it.

The plagiarism is the most flagrant I've ever seen. I have no idea how she thought she wouldn't get caught. Maybe she gives no ****s, maybe it's early onset dementia.

By the way, that tweet significantly underplays what Cindy is claiming. From the article:

This is all just made up from Cindy; none of it ever happened. It's just her mind palace of what probably went down after she alerted them to this problem, instead of what actually went down, which is them going and bothering this woman and finding out that it was exactly what it looked like, which was a woman with a child.

IDK if it's just in my realm, but MAN the right wing nutters appear to be at peak furor levels over the VA Dems allegations.

What's crazy is it started as outrage over hypocrisy but they were SOOOOOOO amped to go there that they forgot to wait for the actual hypocrisy. And WHOOPS, turns out there wasn't much, so now they've been whipped into a frenzy by Tucker et al but can't really articulate why.
