Black History Month and Ralph Northam's yearbook

I searched for this Ralph Northam thing for more info, and I found that even Daily Caller posted an opinion piece today saying he should resign.

OPINION: If Ralph Northam Won’t Apologize, He Should Resign

Spoiler:
It's because he supports abortion rights.

Yeah despite Charlottesville, Stephen King, etc. etc. etc. for days this will be the reason the Democrats are the real racists.

This is going to be in chain emails literally for decades, to this day they’re running with Robert Byrd KKK material.

Yeah, I mean, even if blackface wasn’t that shocking, dressing up as a klansman... definitely was. Even in 1984.

Bye, Felicia.

Nice vetting process, Democrats!

Not gonna read a whole Daily Caller article to figure out what's actually going on, but according to the opening paragraph he "supports a 'woman’s choice' to abort her baby, even after the child is born," which does seem a little too progressive.

How are yearbooks for post-graduate degrees even a thing? I'm trying to imagine getting my Ph.D. and being like yo, bro, will you sign my yearbook?

Sounds like murder? Article conspicuously neglected to include context or detail which makes me wonder, especially given the source.

How did gillespies team not dig that up?

No, that’s the daily caller daily callering it up. He was referring to non-viable pregnancies. As in, an infant is born that is going to die horribly in a few hours or days due to a severe birth abnormality and is existing in constant pain (this happens sometimes). He wasn’t advocating for infanticide of viable babies.

IDK, I think I'm gonna need a cite on that if you're going to dispute a Daily Caller article.

I guess this is the Northam thread for now though it should maybe be extracted? Anyway, interesting thread on oppo research regarding yearbooks

After this and Kavanaugh, I think maybe one could argue that yearbooks should be prioritized a little more than they have been

Am I misunderstanding the topic at hand completely? It sounds like people are making it sound like withdrawing life support from a terminally ill newborn is an abortion?? You aren’t aborting grandma when you take her off the vent and give pain meds either.

You aren't misunderstanding. It's just more BS.

he needs to resign, period. i'm not going to be subject to a government whose elected officials dress in KKK garb, under any circumstances. the lieutenant governor is next in succession and is a democrat, so ralphie needs to just **** right off and stop staining the party. he's not even a liberal anyway

I thought so, but then why are Ds even mentioning abortion/choice/women rights/etc to let the conversation get hijacked??? They should just say it has nothing to do with abortion at all and is just basic end of life medical ethics that even Catholics agree on.

Could be wrong, because it's hard to tell from the photo, but it looks like the KKK costume guy might be black, just judging by his exposed hands. If so, the joke would be here's Northam in blackface and here's his black friend as a member of the Klan. Terrible taste edgelording if so, but I don't think he should resign over it.

No. There's no justification. The guy has offered no such explanation and won't even say which character he's portraying. Democrats can't openly practice the same type of hypocrisy that Republicans do and then try to claim the high road. He's got to step down and quickly.

He doesn't have to justify it. He has to apologize profusely and explain that he's not the same person. How is it hypocrisy?

Someone who really felt that way would have outed himself.

He wouldn't have outed himself if he wanted to keep his job and liked his job more than he is apologetic.
