I don’t know if it was a pit bull or what kind of dog just attacked mine. But the ******* owner shouting "no" at it was sure a hell of a lot less effective than keeping her goddamn dog on a ****ing leash would have been.

It does but they've already missed. They'd want that green line to merge with Mars' orbit. Kind of like how it almost does with ceres. Then it falls into orbit. Instead they overshot. Idiots!

That's the orbital path it's on, it hasn't actually gotten there yet, it's still chilling by Earth. (it will take years to travel that green path)

By design it is not targeted for actually reaching the Mars planet. More of a proof of concept by putting it in an orbit that reaches an equivalent distance. Apparently there are certain time windows for actually rendezvousing with Mars and it's not open now.

Looks like they had enough extra fuel to push it out even more.

Musk said it was possible (but very unlikely) to hit mars. So I think a mars rendezvous was possible and what they were trying for

I think what you read is that, because the payload is going to be in orbit for hundreds of millions of years, there is a small chance it will crash into Mars someday, but in all likelihood it will just be out there forever.

Every single thing I read said they were not trying to hit Mars.

theres a guy running in my district for us congress who i really really really want to win. I havent joined his campaign yet but will get around to it. I was wondering if microbet or some other friends i may have would perhaps be willing to shovel money his way. Ive knwon him for 20 years and KNOW he can win. I basically want to talk about it in private with microbet or possibly some other serious democrats on here. he can def take the seat from gop so if you want to help the dems win this is a way.
