But like, people are still going to see it. The kids want to see it. They aren't buying tickets and leaving the theaters empty.

I almost feel compelled to go see it in a theater to help run up the box office score.

Granted. That's why it's a thing with a small kernel of truth and not an actual truthful claim.

Studies show that the people most opposed to immigration have the least amount of immigrants around them. I wonder how many of these people are unaware that Latin Americans and Iranians and Syrians are largely white?

These people are literally worried that white people are being replaced by other white people who don't speak english as a first language.

I’d go see it if I weren’t afraid some Dylan Roof wanna-be might decide to shoot up a local theater.

Go to that multiplex that has it on every screen, at least you up the odds.

Not the first time white Americans are worried about white immigrants so no surprise there.

Greenwald just woating it up this morning hauling water for Russia

I'm almost as ashamed of my one time support of GG as my idiot early 20s libertarian phase.

They aren't white, though, because whiteness is only tangentially related to skin color. Hard to be paler than an Irishman, but they weren't white for a while.

Yeah Greenwald constantly tweeting Michael Traceyesque nonsense(and sometimes retweeting actual Michael Tracey nonsense) is a lapse of judgment so egregious it almost disqualifies the rest of his good takes.

The indictments against the troll farms really broke a lot of the left for some reason they can't just like, continue to win on the merits, they NEED reality to settle all their grudges and a bunch of them decided that Russia being a hoax would own the donut emoji *******s.

New York Magazine makes a case for impeaching Clarence Thomas

Very good read here (nothing will come of it obv)

I was randomly reminded of the album “free to be you and me” recently. I found it on YouTube and listened to it with my kids, I still know almost all the words. Made me pretty ****ing sad tbh. This is not the direction the world/country was supposed to be headed according to that ****. My parent were super-hippies, so I’m not sure how universal the belief that everyone should be content and happy and healthy and....good?... was for other kids in my generation.

Certainly was not remote concern about kids being slaughtered at school back then, but I have zero idea what worried my parents at the time.

The hippies weren't quite as popular in their own time as Hollywood, Madison Avenue, et al have lead us to believe.

This. His strawman arguments and the confirmation bias that makes him handpick people who say stupid things that don't represent the majority are incredibly disingenuous.

I would not be shocked if he was now a Russian stooge. I mean I know it's unlikely but it still wouldn't surprise me.

I definitely made some moves towards libertarianism/ACism in my early/mid 20s that I'm embarrassed about. Majoring in Economics in conjunction with my own naiveté biased me towards liberarianism.

However, I am way more ashamed of my flirtations with conservatism as a freshman and sophomore in college though that was due to my parents' influence rather than my own beliefs.

Why is it unlikely? Seems a lot of people can be bought off pretty easily and unwittingly.

Stooge or useful idiot. What's the difference?

GG is a small fry. He likes to think himself as big but he's really just a blogger with a niche audience and an enormous ego. The rest of the media laughs when he claims to be a journalist and thinks he's nothing more than a minor nuisance. It'd be pointless to buy off somebody with so little influence.

And he never goes on, say, Fox News as the token "librul who's mad at those darn libruls"?

He's pretty useful to Putin's ends, so it wouldn't surprise me at all to find out he's as bought out as wikileaks.

I have to disagree with this. Between the nature of the American electoral system (first past the post and only two viable parties) and how evenly the country is currently split between Democrats and Republicans a change in sentiment on even a small part of the electorate can lead to a huge shift in the balance of power.

joe rogan tweeting zerohedge articles about Kim Dotcom being right about the DNC

i have a friend who is a big time rogan lover so we spent some time talking about the guests on his show, last time it was about the amplification of Alex Jones and how I think that is pretty unconscionable

Didn't KDC burn any credibility with that Seth Rich / Hannity horsecrap
02-19-2018 , 03:07 PM
Credibility is never lost so long as the audience wants to buy whatever the performing is selling.
