Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris had that exact plan (draw first responders, then kill them all with an explosion) but the bombs did not work.

No kidding. Well as soon as I started hearing about this incident and the connection with Mondays bombing I instantly thought it sounded like the plot for a season of 24

That doesn't necessarily mean that the white hat dude had anything to do with it.

That's true. There was not only likely a **** ton of cops at their command post at the mall, but that's where they gave their press conference, so there was lots of media there as well. No way was the suspect there shooting at them or something imo.

officers may have been injured previously and just arrived at command post

Yes, I understand that any injuries might have nothing to do w/Sunil but there's thousands of cops there. How the hell could he still be in the area free?

Well, a human being takes up roughly 1 square yard of area. And the fuzz are spread out over approximately 20 square blocks. A typical city block is about 20-30k square yards.

So, if they have 160,000 police officers, they should theoretically find the guy in an instant.

Mind, it's late, my math skills are probably rubbish aorn.

Yes, ty, very helpful. Also, all the people in the world would fit into the Tampa Bay city limits.

Pipebombs and rudimentary bombs aren't sophisticated weaponry. I knew a kid in high school who got suspended and kicked out of one school because of making and possessing a pipebomb. Thankfully, he wasn't a violent type of guy and just was up to youthful mischief. A lot of kids made muriatic acid bombs out of soda bottles and would vandalize stuff with them.

I would guess most of the materials used in these bombings were not very hard to purchase and could be stockpiled over the course of months. Or assembled in very quick time.

Your math does not include how many floors are in apartments of that block. Not nitting you. Just the square yards would go up if you include second and third floors, etc.

MIT cops confirmed smartest and bravest cops on the planet. RIP

Just hoping suspect #2 doesn't take anymore with him before killed or captured. Captured would be preferred for possible intel, then some good old fashioned pilgrim stockading at Boston Common for a week or two. Guess he needs a trial first, whatever, just sayin', ok, after trial stockade the bastard.

Then I want all assembled law enforcement to apprehend, capture, and terminate suspect#3, John King, while brandishing his dumbphoneV, and suspect#4, Wolf Blitzer, while brandishing his pressure cooker prop.

Seriously, Wolf has always scared the **** outta me. He's obviously a terrorist with all that facial hair. Oh, he's shaved in that pic, he still terrifies me.

Actually, LEO can go ahead and round up all of cable news journalist combatants. Then we might have Peace.

****, now they think that **** might have carjacked another car and may make it out of Watertown. ****er might be headed my way soon. I'll smash my crock pot over his head if the ****er comes near me.

But, yeah, my Mom was there on Sunday to volunteer for registration, which she does every year since she no longer runs in it. Those ****ers need to be terminated forthwith.

Great work otherwise. Thought these ****ers might get away.

Such ****ing cowards to kill 2 girls and an 8 year-old boy. And now an MIT cop, too. RIP.

There is some serious doubt floating around about the suspect even being Sunil Tripathi.

@BuzzFeedAndrew Sunil Tripathi's named was mentioned on the police scanner last night, but he is not the Boston bomber.

Plus NBC's Pete Williams stuff already mentioned, etc.

Who knows. That would be a hell of a thing.
