538 posted this in their live updates:

This county was Trump +2, and since Clinton won VA by 5 Gillespie needs to outperform Trump's 2016 numbers by a bit in order to win this

Thank God, 538 and upshot both looking like a Dem win in Virginia. About god damned time we won a contested election.

With 20% in, NYT thinks 90% of outcomes fall between Northam +11 and Gillespie +0.8, average Northam +5.4

Virginia has gotta be almost a lock at this point.

What else should we really be focusing on? (I'm assuming NJ gov will go blue comfortably)

The best result would be Northam by 2 votes and then CNN finds 3 people who were waiting till Wednesday because they read Jr.'s tweet.

Unless something crazy happens to NOVA vote, this should be in the bag.

Our best guess is that Mr. Northam is currently on track to win the election.
Nice!

lol please

Oh, ****. I refuse to believe Northam's brand of bloodless, equivocating neoliberalism is that popular, so my only conclusion is that Virginians really hate Trump.

Virginia Attorney General is very importnat for oddball scenarios involving trump pardoning people who also committed state crimes in Virginia.

does this virginia thing matter?
11-07-2017 , 08:54 PM
How CNN reports VA

With 11%, Gilespie leads the race!

Northram takes the lead with 25% reporting!

Uhh... that's not how this works.

Yes, a loss here just continues to demoralize dems ahead of the midterms. Could dry up donations.

The NYTIMES median forecast right now is Northam +8. That would be fantastic. Gillespie ran as a Trump candidate. A big loss for him there might finally drive republicans a bit back towards the center and away from Trump.
11-07-2017 , 08:56 PM
33% in and NYT predicting ~Northam +7.5 with Gillespie +anything not even in the realm of possibility

PHEW

If a purple state voted red after ten months of Trump I'd seriously start considering jumping the border into Canada.

Yeah, the seat already belonged to a dem so while a win is needed, it isn't really gaining ground. If he wins by like 7+ points though, that's pretty exciting.

I wonder if Trump will delete these like he did with his Luther Strange tweets lol
11-07-2017 , 09:00 PM
i think he's more likely to retweet virginia local crime reports for the rest of his term
11-07-2017 , 09:01 PM
Mitch and Paul Ryan confirmed pissing themselves.
11-07-2017 , 09:02 PM
AG Democratic Candidate Herring just took the lead.

Think he might as well just double down at this point and call him Governor MS-13 like he calls Elizabeth Warren Pocahontas.
