It's less about posing and more about posting an obviously inappropriate track he came to despise, but go off

Hey as a quick reminder before I go to bed for four hours sleep: don't agree to write anyone's NIH or NSF grant proposals in the last 4-5 weeks, no matter how much they pay you. (unless it's gold and you somehow finagled some equity)

EDIT: If you do, enjoy scientists' "holiday schedules" and get used to "working up our commercialization plan" in a few hours. Let's see that check bro.

Wait, people can just pay you to write grant proposals?

I could be trans-curious for her.

Torn between thinking beauty pageants are dumb but also wanting to see cp’s lawnmower take flight.

Would never have known she's trans based on appearance.

I enjoy the argument that it's unfair to allow biological males to complete in female competitions, like Miss Universe is the women's 800m.

Looking forward to her explaining how the economy works for the talent competition.

I mean any one of us dudes could probably get off the couch and dominate a local pageant with just a few months of YouTube make up tutorial training. The elite level it changes a bit, tho. They need to introduce weight classes or something.

merkel favorite/ally annegret kramp-karrenbauer wins cdu leadership in a close vote against a more hard conservative option. i don't really know how Germany works, but i guess it means merkel gets to leave on her on terms, within a year or two, and akk takes over as chancellor then (if the government lasts that long)
12-07-2018 , 12:14 PM
Not quite. The next general election is in September of 2021 and Merkel will likely serve out her term. AKK can now be considered the front-runner to be the CDU's candidate for chancellor.

Edit: The chancellor isn't elected directly. Instead the Federal Diet (parliament) elects the chancellor. Before the general elections the two big parties (CDU/SPD) announce who they intend to nominate.

but isnt merkel going to step down a year or two before the next (scheduled) election? and someone else (probably akk) is going to lead cdu into it, no?

that's how it would have gone in other parliamentary systems

Merkel has announced she will stay on as chancellor until (after) the next general election. There is always the possibility she changes her mind but I doubt it. For now she has only stepped down as chairman of the party and AKK was elected as her successor. The party might nominate someone else (Seehofer, Merz) as their designated chancellor but for now AKK is the favorite.

Anyone driving into Miami Beach this week is sure to pass a string of super-yachts—floating signifiers of their owners’ wealth. These highly visible luxury purchases, which come with their own multimillion-dollar price tags and creative names, often hold a cache of cultural treasures, from antiquities to contemporary art. But is a yacht the best place to keep your art collection?
Good question

One of the yachts traveling to the Miami Boat Show was abandoned en route a few days ago. Suspect it didn't have valuable art on board because it hadn't been sold yet.
