Nobody knows where these towns are located. They just have names, and it's always snowing.

The high-rise was in the BIG CITY (in this case Seattle) which was a plane ride away from Conway.

But yeah nearby Greenfield allowed a ton of development, and a WalMart (named something else, but clearly WalMart). And it turns out the light pollution from Greenway at night is what was causing the poinsettias not to turn red! Eventually big city business lady who grew up on the poinsettia farm figure that out, covered the poinsettias with thick blankets. When they removed the blankets, the plants were all red! The parade and family farm was saved!

Then she realized big city life and high rises wasn't for her, she left the rich blond developer dude in the middle of their pseudo-date, and took the redeye back to Conway to be with chisel-cheeked, hairgel famer-hunk.

I wept.

I've watched 5 of these now and every single one is big city business woman moving back to her hometown to be with local hunk who could have moved away but knows [blankville] is the place he needs to be.

Every small town has a huge Christmas Ball, Pageant, Formal or Parade right?

Is this the reason I'm getting all of those "Hallmark Christmas movies" ads on Tapatalk?

Was a blast. Seated second row back. My friend handed a joint to Method Man mid performance lol. He stashed it. At least Raekwon and Ghost and maybe others had lit up pre end of show.

we all read that intercept? article a few years ago about the paramilitary/militia group that was patrolling the deserts for illegals. it had such great quotes as "Oh man I hope I bag a beaner today". and "I really like the blacks, they follow orders well."

to me, the most horrifying part was that they roamed around the desert gleefully destroying caches of water and food meant for travelers.

anyway, Im sure a bunch more "mobilized" recently, but theres been plenty of them patrolling for years already.

I know. I am not smart. jsut saying what I would do. but it would obv depend on the terrain and head start. with a 50m head start and a gravel/dirt road I think I can make it.

in the woods, with a trail, obv not trying.

Visited London and Berlin last week, a couple things seemed relevant to this forum from the latter visit:

Look at the ****ing grin on the guy on the left, looks like pictures of those crowds who would go to lynchings for some good ole' entertainment

The favorite exercise of right-wing faux-intellectual dip****s hasn't changed a lot in 80 years (next to this was a small picture of a schoolteacher showing a chart like this one in class to children)

Oh, and the guy standing outside the Brandenburg Gate with a sign saying "Nazis are National Zionists" with the flipside being about Jews controlling the media/world was pretty great, wish I got a picture

There is a big Nextdoor thread bitching about our property tax increase that was recently sent out. A bunch of deplorables complaining about some tiny increases and someone referred to Minneapolis as Moscow on the Mississippi LOL

Clicking through, it kinda sounds like the result of this is simply that the drivers are left out in the cold?

Like, if their claims against Uber have to be settled by arbitration and Uber is, by and large, not paying the arbitrators to start the process:

Quote:
A group of 12,501 drivers opted to take Uber at its word, individually bringing their cases up for arbitration, overwhelming the infrastructure that’s meant to divide and conquer. “As of November 13, 2018, 12,501 demands have been filed with JAMS,” the notice states. (JAMS refers to the arbitration service Uber uses for this purpose.) Continuing on, emphasis ours: “Of those 12,501 demands, in only 296 has Uber paid the initiating filing fees necessary for an arbitration to commence [...] only 47 have appointed arbitrators, and [...] in only six instances has Uber paid the retainer fee of the arbitrator to allow the arbitration to move forward.”
...then the drivers are basically in a state of limbo and not getting what they want, right?

Is this actually Uber's policy biting them in the ass, or is it a bug-as-a-feature in their process that means dragging out claim against them forever?
12-09-2018 , 06:06 PM
If Uber doesn't hold up their end of the bargain then they may end up in court.

No, but they SHOULD. Just like farmers SHOULD look like people that are also part time fitness models. Stupid reality!

I am just kind of assuming that whatever the agreement is has some kind of measure to prevent non-engagement. My worry is that Uber might find some way to have their cake and eat it - one arbitrator for all petitioners. All the efficiency of collective bargaining with all the lopsidedness of arbitration. A lockout strategy might be a concern too, though.

i think the ultimate strategy is to force a court to declare that uber isn't complying with their own TOS, and then maybe try and invalidate the forced arbitration that way for the 750k drivers across the country.

ultimately though i think it doesnt do much.
