Sometimes the road to hell is paved with poolboys and blood dimonds rather than good intentions.

Canadian mace dude is a hero.

He took down a gunman in the House of Commons who'd already killed one person, running behind a column for cover, then diving across and shooting up at the gunman and killing him (with an assist to some RCMP dudes who started shooting once Vickers made his move). The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a mace.

Here he is a couple of year later taking down a protestor in Ireland

I sincerely wish the stupidest part of the current US government was a mace.

It means with a scoop if ice cream. Pie a la mode is pie with ice cream.

Pie à la mode wasn’t John Gieriet’s only invention. He received a United States patent for a railroad car ventilating apparatus on June 20, 1882. He also received a patent on October 30, 1899 for a type of fire escape

I know. I looked it up after. Just struck me as comically pretentious. Here we call that pie with icecream.
12-11-2018 , 09:51 AM
I call it pie au courant.
12-11-2018 , 10:03 AM

Lol these three consecutive posts. I wonder how long Chris has been sitting on the "a la mode" joke. Just waiting for that day when you need the perfect distraction because some miscreant touched the precious mace.
