Not universally true.

Quote:
State-owned Rosneft and independent Lukoil are Russia’s two largest oil producers. Together, the two companies account for about half of Russia’s roughly 11 million barrels per day oil production. While oil prices and government revenues declined in 2015, Rosneft increased its capital expenditure on exploration and production for projects in Russia by 30% compared with 2014. Rosneft’s exploration and production capital expenditure in the first half of 2016 was 33% higher than in the first half of 2015.

And at any rate oil companies are not giving up. Russia has already started the process at least for a new pipeline from Siberian to China, has been trying to build one through Turkey, is exploring pipeline construction to India, and have recently reached agreements to build one under the Black Sea.

WHY DO YOU THINK THE CIA IS LYING ABOUT RUSSIAN INVOLVEMENT IN THE ELECTION
Again with the blatant disingenuous response.

There is not even a consensus among people re: what the actual CIA report said, yet you are super duper sure it confirms the Ruskies are in bed the Trump. Additionally, the FBI is on record saying they can't draw any conclusions thus far either.
Quote:
The FBI hasn't concluded that the RNC itself was directly breached, a law enforcement official said Sunday. FBI investigators did find that a breach of a third-party entity that held data belonging to the RNC. But the data appears to have been outdated and of little value to the hackers. The FBI also found that some conservative groups and pundits were hacked. The FBI also hasn't found conclusive evidence to show that it was done to help Trump.

"At this point, there appears to have been a combination of motivations," one US law enforcement official said. "They wanted to sow discord and undermine our systems. It's clear not even the Russians thought he would win."

Officials familiar with the briefings given to Congress say the CIA assessment wasn't as definitive as has been portrayed in news reports this weekend. The agency developed new information in recent weeks, based on intelligence sources, which prompted a new assessment of the Russian hack. That assessment "leans" toward the view that the Russians were trying to hurt Clinton and help Trump. But the CIA assessment wasn't definitive, the officials said.

Part of the issue is the nature of the CIA and FBI roles in the investigation. The CIA produces raw intelligence, the FBI moves more slowly to reach conclusions based on the intelligence and other investigative work.
Lord Obama himself ordered an inquiry just two days ago!!! Maybe he should have just dropped by the thread where everyone could CONFRIM Putin was behind the hacks, he supports Trump, Trump is in fact just shy of being a puppet of the Russian govt. Could have saved the taxpayers some coin which will presumably be wasted on, you know, fact finding...evidence and the like.

Oh well, it's been fun. Time do get a little work done and go to bed. Don't expect a response from me.

So Russia is responsible for the DNC hack (per Obama administration, intelligence agencies, two private security firms). Why would they hack the DNC? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ really impossible to say, maybe chose that target at random?

This isn't healthy skepticism man, it's pedantry. No, we don't know FOR SURE that Russia was trying to influence the election, but the evidence is pointing that way and it seems a good assumption at the moment. We don't have to prove everything to beyond reasonable doubt standard before we're allowed to assume it's true.

And yet again you have completely failed to answer the question or make a case. Nighty night. Sleep well.

thenewsavman,

I find the propaganda disconcerting and the propagandized disturbing. Rationality left the building long ago. Save the bits.

Here's another good tweetstorm with an ominous take on what's going to come for the press.

Looking forward to the day when the idea of making a coherent thought or argument via a 'tweetstorm' is regarded as wholly ignorant and lazy. Write on medium or wherever the **** and link it via your twitter you counterfeit bums.

Yeah it's no replacement for long form media but I do find that the format forces the writer to be quite clear about the essentials of the argument which when done well I quite enjoy. Combined with Twitter's ubiquity the format also makes it possible for lots of clarifying interaction with individual elements of the argument in a way that's more difficult on other platforms. Obviously different strokes for different folks etc.

Guys like McCain and Graham likely see this as dual purpose. They will want to punish Russia for meddling/cyber attacks after a deep dive into Russia/Trump links.

IIRC I had a similar take a year ago and PVN came hard at me too. TBH your points are well taken and I'm not as bothered by the ads anymore, but I AM curious why this issue / opinion animates you so much and so consistently.
