Dear god do I hate baby boomers Dear god do I hate baby boomers

Boomers are an issue because there are so many of them. Means that as a voting block they came to power earlier and are able to hold on to that power much longer. People are selfish and power corrupts and the next generations have not been able to take that power from them yet.

Boomers are a problem because they didn't fund their retirement funds and didn't have that many kids... and have kept the official retirement age the same while living a lot longer than their parents did. Except when they have a really good job in which case they hang around forever.

Some of them are, I assume, good people.

Damn those people for not having enough kids and living too long. Damn them all.

I thought about making this tread many times, but I am not a thread maker.

Most of the boomers I know in here in texas are trumpstains, and are pissed off about pretty much everything.

It's striking for a group of people who have enjoyed the highest standard of living in the history on the known ****ing universe, to be so spoiled.

I assume this is from their parents (the greatest generation ) spoiling them.
me me me me me me me is all they know.

And of course, having the benefits white privilege, whilst claiming victimhood of all manner , is particularly nauseating.

I think's more them seeing their fathers fight the good fight in WWII and then watching their generation be the first Americans to lose a war against third-world villagers and the ensuing crisis of American masculinity that manifested itself as angry paranoid old men waving guns around, driving giant SUVs, calling people snowflakes, and falling in love with authoritarian strongmen.

I volunteer myself (will be 69 in April) as a designated hated baby boomer to answer all questions asked w/ no topic off limits.

what is the boomers claim to fame, for lack of a better expression?

like the "greatest generation" fought a **** ton of wars
the baby boomers-?
the gen Xers- made the internet as we know it.

what is the boomers thing? i have this conversation with a couple buddies every once in a while and the thing we come up with is advances in medical science but what specifically?

This was true for every generation before them and there is no indication it won't be true for at least the 2 generations after them. It is only so obvious because the younger generation hasn't been able to take power before they became grumpy old bastards.

Also lol at above post denying all the fundamentals of the internet were created by boomers. They are a problem but they did build the wealth they are not willing to share.

I don't have any to offer, they will make their own way. And GL to them, imo, bec all of this tech stuff is going to be a huge challenge. Think China's Social Credit System.

Tim Berners Lee is a baby boomer and so is Eric Bina. There are others but they are responsible for the internet being more than computers talking to each other.

Pardon me, I didn't know that the civil rights struggle had ended w/ the passage of the civil rights act.

Very well, I will change my reply as to what Boomers have contributed to: NASCAR!

Hon. Mention: WRESTLEMANIA!

Bina was born october 64 which i guess barely squeeks in by the largest timeline you can use for the generation. this time period is interchangeable with GEN X beginning.

but i concede your point on tim berners lee.

Al Sharpton.

I really admire that man. Many have tried to bring him down and he's beaten every single one.

BTW, you all better hope that Mason doesn't look in here and see this thread title.
