They may have had to wait in a longer line, but they had a LOT more to lose. Somehow when they were voting for Obama they found the time. Hell they used the long lines as a reason to be motivated to vote when they were voting for a black guy.
EDIT: When a demographic group has this much at stake I don't think it's unreasonable to expect them to turn out. Especially if they are a minority of the population. The only way minority groups get any attention from the political system is if they all vote and vote as a block. Social Security and Medicare are the perfect examples of this: old people ****ing vote which is why we pretend like it's sustainable to have a medical benefits program where people collect 3x what they put in.
