Comey's Interview Comey's Interview

Can someone explain this to me. Comey claims "there were hundreds of thousands of Hillary Clinton's emails there. That's an affirmative act of concealment." "There" being Anthony Weiner's computer.

I can't see there being that many Hillary emails on the Weiner computer. I can see hundreds of thousands of total Weiner-Abedin emails on the computer with some between Abedin and Clinton. But for there to be that many between Abedin and Hillary compiled, say, over a 10 year period they would have had to email each other around 100 times a day. I believe there were only about 80,000 total State Department + Personal emails on Hillary's private server.

Comey's statement just doesn't add up to me. It sounds like he's misrepresenting the number to justify his October surprise. Lying, in other words. Yet why would he do that? If he is lying he's got to know it will be found out.

Never underestimate the possibility that people in positions of power are complete morons with no idea what they're on about at any given moment. Especially when it comes to technology of any kind.

I sent Clinton like 20 bucks two years ago and she is still sending me 100 emails a day.

Maybe he meant hundreds or thousands. As Trump would say, "hundreds, many people are saying thousands of emails."

Thinking about it some more, Huma Abedin was Hillary's close advisor. So it's likely there were a lot of campaign emails between Hillary and other people which had been CC'ed to Abedin. But the FBI had already been looking at Weiner's computer for several weeks before Comey made the announcement. So by that time Comey should have known that most of the Hillary emails on Weiner's computer were irrelevant to Hillary's State Department emails. Therefore his contention in last night's interview that the 100's of thousands of Clinton emails there were "an affirmative act of concealment" is still misleading spin.

Clinton is undoubtedly getting over a thousand emails a day.

She probably has an entire office dedicated to just reading her emails.

It's hard to imagine Comey failing to fully think through the consequences of a public statement.
