Did Trump just make a wise decision by not blocking Comey?

Meh, he didn't block Cruz from speaking at that Republican rally where he refused to endorse Trump and apparently was given Cruz's speech ahead of time.

Also, he may have been advised that he couldn't legally, not that that has stopped him before.

Trolly,

You forgot the best part:

Actual quote from a lawyer about Trump. Anonymous, of course, but still hilarious.

Thing is, in addition to the daily deluge of bad news and general criticism, this and the investigation into both himself and his family is what Trump's dealing with on a daily basis, and it's causing him to crack up. He's not only getting all the bad news we see in public, he's also getting plenty of other bad news privately.

Trump is such a dope if he live tweets. He really thinks this is all a game and the Presidency is his own personal reality TV show.

I stand by my same position from the last few months. One way or another, Trump won't survive the first year.

I pegged October if he was elected, but I didn't realize how criminal-friendly the GOP would be. No chance he's removed with Paul Ryan and Mitch McTurtle in power.

Can Trump quit?

I can easily see him saying "**** it, I'm done." He's got no attention span, his work ethic consists of "Do it or your fired!", he hates having to represent the US (he didn't want to go on that overseas trip), and he thinks everyone's out to get him.

The dude is nothing but an attention whore. He just wants to be the center of attention and be in the news. If his weaknesses include being shallow and fickle, you bet your ass he's capable of quitting.

Re: Comey in the House: A Sweat Thread

I can see Trump stepping aside. Its pretty clear he'll not be getting the universal adoration he desires. I can also see a 25th amendment type of play if he continues to do abstract things. Romney warned before the election that Trump was not fit for office, and we're seeing that play out virtually every day.

If a majority of the cabinet decides he can't execute the duties of a president, then I don't think the two-thirds vote in Congress will be that difficult. The scarier possibility is that the few clear heads in the executive branch will become frustrated and they'll be the ones to quit, and their jobs will be taken by incompetent replacements.

100% if he live tweets it. No way he doesn't challenge Comey's lies. He might even forget Comey is under oath for a while.

It's too bad Trump doesn't interact freely with the media anymore. It would be so easy to get him.

"Comey has to be telling the truth and you don't. You could lie all you want because you're not under oath."

"Fine. Give me this oath thing. I'll show you all! MUHAHAHAHA!"

As a Brit who's resigned to waking up on Friday to 5 more years of Conservative rule, I'm banking on Comey to brighten up my week.

Re: Comey in the House: A Sweat Thread

that article/report is meaningless in the truest sense of the word. obv he isn't going to directly accuse him, it's an ongoing investigation. 100% lock comey won't vindicate him and say that he wasn't obstructing justice tho. comey will present his version/recollections of numerous interactions with the BK cheetoman and it's a stone lock that it won't look good for daddy when he's through
