Comey fired Comey fired

Let's say Trump completely lied about Comey telling him he wasn't under investigation. Would that be a very serious crime?

He had grown enraged by the Russia investigation, two advisers said, frustrated by his inability to control the mushrooming narrative around Russia. He repeatedly asked aides why the Russia investigation wouldn’t disappear and demanded they speak out for him. He would sometimes scream at television clips about the probe, one adviser said.

I would pay $5 to hear that in the voice of the narrator from The Assassination of Jesse James:

I can't make hide nor hair of any of this.

This thread about Rosenstein seems important:

Re: DAG Rosenstein. If a special prosecutor is appointed it would be appointed by...well Rosenstein right? And if he's part of the Comey firing along with Sessions and Trump then why would anyone expect him to appoint someone who's actually going to get to the bottom of all this?

05-10-2017 , 12:50 AM
That's the thing though... is he a 'part of the Comey firing' or a guy told to put his name on something or else?

perhaps more important?

While shock dominated much of the FBI and the White House, the mood was more elated at Roger Stone's house in Florida. Several Stone allies and friends said Stone, who has been frequently mentioned in the investigation, encouraged the president to fire Comey in conversations in recent weeks.

On Twitter, Stone signaled praise for the move by posting an image of Trump from The Apprentice saying "You're fired."

Stone declined to comment Tuesday night but said he was enjoying a fine cigar.

Trump could succeed in steps that effectively dismantle the investigation. But I don't think he can escape the leaks. I suspect there's damaging info out there, and if it can't be presented in the traditional way, it will be shown in a different kind of forum. The FBI lifers may step up to save us. It may not happen right away, but I think it could happen.

But the fallout seemed to take the White House by surprise. Trump made a round of calls around 5 p.m., asking for support from senators. White House officials believed it would be a "win-win" because Republicans and Democrats alike have problems with the FBI director, one person briefed on their deliberations said.
LUL, Trump thought this would be a super popular move. Not only is Trump dumb, but he projects his way of thinking onto others and believes that everyone else thinks like him. Also explains his "Who ever knew that [super complicated issue] was so complicated?" thing. Because apparently if Trump didn't know it, no one else did.

Sure sounds like Comey wasn't fired as some part of an evil mastermind cover up plot (outside of trump's loyalty/authoritarianism mantra), he's just THAT stupid.

Seriously, Trump has the intelligence of a child with the empathy of one of those kids who tortures and kills animals who wants to be america's dictator and is financially corrupt as all hell but we're pushing russia in the media narrative--because we're all so stupid the above isn't good enough to just get rid of him already?

Now we'll get a bunch of hillary indictments blowing the russia narrative to the back pages. Which we've still done nothing about and still can't prove any collusion outside of well trump publically asking for it (release the e-mails).

By Tuesday evening, the president was watching the coverage of his decision and frustrated no one was on TV defending him, a White House official said.
Knew Trump was going to be upset the moment I saw Krauthammer on FNC criticizing him for the timing.

As I said, gotta assume Trump's tweetstorm to distract/set the Fox and Friends and Morning Joe agendas has to be coming in a few hours. This man is nothing but a predictable creature who runs the government with a particular eye to ****ing talk shows.

i dont understand people who think comey did anything wrong announcing he found new emails concerning hilary clinton from anthony weiners email. if someone who is running for the office of president is under fbi investigation the american people have a right to know. plain and simple. he had two bad options, but not saying anything is clearly the more scandalous of the two.

and anyone who thinks that hilary clinton using a private email server to conduct state business is no big deal, you're a fukcing idiot. there needs to be transparency in government to prevent corruption. clintons state dept okayed selling uranium to the russians. the king of saudi arabia and other foreign monarchs donated tens of millions of dollars to the clinton foundation when clinton was the most obvious choice to be the next president of the usa. how much money are they donating now???

im glad trump won. bernie 2020. the two party system is corrupt and beholden to special interests.
05-10-2017 , 02:20 AM
trump was and still is under fbi investigation, comey didn't tell us that.

I can only presume this fact now makes you outraged.

Also they didn't send uranium to the russians nor did hillary seemingly had anything to do with the entire thing being used her against her for it; that is fake news.

Trump is well known to be in bed money wise with foreign monarchs.

We're easily fooled and there's a LOT of **** flying out there so all of us are probably wrong on something.

All I've got is this--if we don't seek the truth, we won't get it.

They learned no one faces any blowback or penalty for this and it's simply a triangulation strategy to keep the mainstream media happy. They are all mini John McCains and faux Mavericks out there pining for pretend Profile in Courage awards where they get credit for brave tweets questioning Trump before they eventually do nothing at all or line up behind him.

Trump knew firing Comey would be unpopular, the White House saying otherwise on background is just PR to boost the idea that Trump fired Comey for legitimate reasons. 'I was just doing what you Democrats wanted me to do aw shucks why are you so mad?'

Anyway, think this says it best on the "NOW Republicans will finally wake up and act. Right?....r...right?":

It would be child’s play for a Republican Party that cared about the integrity of American government institutions to force Trump to comply with some basic ethics guidelines and undertake meaningful financial disclosures. Instead, Ivanka Trump is hawking a book from inside the West Wing and nobody has any idea what kind of sweetheart deals corporations or foreign governments with business before the US government are striking with the Trump Organization.

In exchange for turning a blind eye to Trump’s corruption, Republicans are getting a slate of conservative judges, a solid roster of business-friendly regulators, and, if they’re lucky, a giant tax cut for the rich and millions of people cut off from Medicaid benefits. The price, however, is obvious. The deeper you get in bed with Trump, the more tightly your fate is entwined with his. Some Republicans will decide they are overcommitted to Trump at this point, and they’ll fight on the lie that Comey was fired over emails.
Maybe this time it will be different but don't see why anyone would predict that now. Republicans have made their bets and staked their horse. Republicans are getting their business friendly and poors hating agenda moving, ethics and integrity are for eggheads and liberals to whine about mostly, save a few stooges like Flake and Amash who will pay some lip service to it on twitter.
