Maybe the birthplace of slave rape, but that's about it.

Never mind. 3 total including the police helicopter.

I was actually in Charlottesville last year. Tour of Jefferson's estate was extremely uncomfortable as our white male tour guide tries to sugarcoat slavery.

Also, how hard is it to say **** nazis? literal nazis. this is so depressing

lol u for thinking these people give a **** about consistency. Free speech to these people means the freedom to profess white supremacy without dissent. The end.

I doubt Jefferson invented raping slaves.

Well, he certainly is the most well-known slave raper in history.

On the unfortunate occasions that I've encountered alt-right publications, they're always complaining about a group called "Anti-Fa," which apparently is some group that organizes protests against them (them being the alt-right). As far as I can tell, this Anti-Fa group either does not exist or is EXTREMELY marginal. Am I wrong about this?

For example, I live in Michigan and looked at the Michigan Anti-Fa facebook page. It is literally ~90% comments from alt right types expressing their hatred.

Antifa is probably less than .001% of the population, but it is a real thing.
08-12-2017 , 07:13 PM
They exist and are present at most alt-righty events. Definitely smaller than the bigger movements like BLM, but I wouldn't call them extremely marginal.
08-12-2017 , 07:14 PM
Antifa exists but is rather marginal, yes.
08-12-2017 , 07:15 PM
Hopefully the terrorist in the car will never see the outside of a prison again.
08-12-2017 , 07:19 PM
Antifa isn't really an organization, either. It's more of a tactic. It's not like there's a headquarters or leadership or anything.
08-12-2017 , 07:26 PM
I never heard of anti-fa till I moved to Portland and saw the protests out here. Seems like something the alt-right has just latched onto.

There's way more known people that were slave rapers; just not for that specifically.

Seems unlikely car driver goes to jail either, they'll just make up "he was so afraid of these people he just had to drive through all of them" or whatever total bull**** that'll work with half the population.

I never heard of anti-fa till everyone's favorite british fascist farage called them the real fascists. The classic children I know you are but what am I argument.

News is the folk who died was IWW. That's one of us taking a bullet in the gut in Seattle, and one of us dying in Charlottesville.

Symone Sanders just said HYPER-BOWL on CNN.

As in, white supremacy is not HYPER-BOWL.

Can anyone tell me what's going on on /pol so I don't have to look at it?
08-12-2017 , 07:46 PM
Is the ID of the driver confirmed?
08-12-2017 , 07:48 PM
Doesn't look like it yet, given that the name reported with the initials JV was of someone who subsequently went on Facebook to claim they were falsely identified.

not to derail, but to explain:
in germany, the antifa (= antifaschistische aktion, a concept dating back to 1933) isnt one specific group, but rather a self-given general term for radical-left groups protesting against nazis/g20/gentrification/whatever.

(german) alt-right nowadays calls every leftist/anti-racist protest "antifa", meaning all protestors, no matter if they are radical-left/green/social-democratic or liberal-centrist.

so the term went from a radical-left-concept (groups working in alliance to be more effective/while this concept is of course still up to date) to a generalized label of the political enemy used by the alt-right.

so "antifa" isnt one specific group.
