Don't understand this stuff. Is that less money going on leave, or more?

^I prefer money line odds. On william hill today, remain has gone from -1000 to -600 and now is -700. So for -1000, bet 1000$ to win 100$ aka very likely. The lines moving is the indicator of who is putting money where, but I dont fully understand how the actual movement works.

It means the implied probability for remain is around 85%. (eg 1.16 => 1/1.16 = 86%)

As an American, my main concern is whether this Brexit thing will have any influence on Jeremy Clarkson returning to Top Gear.
06-23-2016 , 10:57 AM
So brexit at 1.22 is 81% on current odds? That doesn't sound right...
06-23-2016 , 11:00 AM
That are the odds for remain, ie chance of brexit would be at 19%.

Nothing will bring him back. Clarkson, Hammond, and May are doing a show on Amazon called The Grand Tour.

Don't really follow UK politics but seems like there should be some compromise option. Like you guys submit to the EU Monday through Friday but get to spend the weekends as a real country. Seems win/win to me but idk.

Media hype much? Go watch your lying snivelling poster boy osborne get torn a new one by Andrew Neil. That was hilarious. The remain camp is so woolly and wannabe fashionable it's a joke. People are allowed to think for themselves and come to a different conclusion from you, get over yourself.

We kind of have that already. We get a massive rebate on our subscription, we're not in the euro, we're not in the Schengen open-border zone and we're not in the federal 'ever closer union' thing.

"Private" was the key word in his post, billions at stake in the markets, so private polling going on. British media don't publish any exit polls until voting stops (don't know if that is law or convention).

That's pretty close to voting to stay. Still married but with all the opt outs it's an open marriage.

The real scandal is there's no 'reclaim the colonies' option. Growing a new King George is looking like a waste of time.

Not really on, due to his contract with Amazon to present the Grand Tour show. He and May made a short video for Remain because it would become a bureaucratic nightmare to film their show, crossing all those visa and customs barriers and hurdling the work-permit and film-permit regs, if we weren't in the EU.

As I understand, there can't be proper exit polls for this vote because there's no reference point. Exit polls compare the current vote within a consituency to previous votes and analyse the swings. But there's nothing to compare to with this referendum.

I'm at a loss why Europe never listens to us on important issues....

Was going to make a joke about you drinking this early again, then I realized the pubs close at like 7 or something so I guess you better get it down while you can.

Voted.

Remain and leave boxes should have been subtitled as "the right choice" and "why are you still reading?"
06-23-2016 , 02:36 PM
Drat this pesky democracy with its different options.

I voted twice, I think.

My nan and her carer Paula voted leave - but refused to use the booth pencils and used their own bingo pens so MI5 wouldn't doctor their votes.
